COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This is a full-strength beer containing 5.4% by vol. alcohol, which is spicy and not too strongly hopped. Stammbräu harks back to the optimistic mood of the early days, still prevailing here, and is advertised with period illustrations from shortly after the turn of the century. Stammbräu is only available in the traditional cliplock bottles, which have been re-introduced. Particularly in the Vienna area,

Bottle in Vienna. Pours Golden with a White head. No skimping on the malt. Nice degree of bitterness. A tad ordinary. What are you gonna do though. Austria is not much of beer country in my experience despite the Germanic vibe.
