#826 Das soll ein Pils sein? Schon merkwürdig, was die Bayern darunter verstehen!

Grima (2033) - Saarburg, Rhineland-Palatinate, GERMANY - MAY 2, 2012
Pours golden yellow into the glass, with flat, fine head. It smells delicate hopy and spicy, with pleasant aromahops! Starts very spicy and hoppy, subtly bitter, with lots of grassy hop flavor. The middle part is very aromatic, pleasantly hoppy and subtly bitter and grassy. Goes into a grassy, hoppy finish!

Comfortable German lager with a very stable and nice foam, tastes a bit like a Czech pilsner, which is certainly is a very good thing.

500 ml bottle picked up in Kirn Germany and had at home. Pours a slightly hazy clear yellow gold. Has a soft thin white head. Aroma is hops and sweet hay. Taste is sweet malts, hay and some sweet fruits. Plate is ending a bit dry. This is a normal southern pils.

[bottle] Powdery fresh crisp malt aroma with not a small level of noble German hops. Bright straw under an eternal, lacy, white blanket. Malty and a balance is slightly towards sweet, but with a very nice hay and noble hops flavour. Very nice and quaffable. Light body, medium carbonation, clean and crisp finish.
