23/IV/15 - 33cl bottle from Willems (Grobbendonk) @ home - BB: n/a, but at least 2 years old, since Brouwerij Wieze stopped producing this beer in 2013. (2015-463) Thanks to Beerlover_Ben for picking this one up for me!

Clear dark blond beer, fizzy crackling yellowish head, pretty stable, non adhesive. Aroma: sour apples, quinces, spicy, bit sweet, soapy, perfume, little oxidized. MF: lively carbon, medium body. Taste: very fruity, bit spicy, cloves, some coriander, sourish touch, pears, green apples, bit soapy. Aftertaste: alcohol burn, bit sugary, yeast, spicy, little bitter, a bit off. Not as bad as I had feared.

330ml bottle, thanks to JefVerstraete. Pours hazy orange with a nice sweet tripel aroma. Taste continues, forming a lovely sweet character very nicely blended. A very enjoyable tripel this.

Ambré léger avec un tête moyen. L’arôme du pâte de pain. Super levure. Le goût à plein de levure, mais ce n’est pas vraiment un triple. La carbonatation est trop bas et elle manque du levure fruité. Bonne, mais rien de spéciale.

Alengrin (3148) - BELGIUM - NOV 6, 2014
One of the first of two Wieze beers created when the brand name was taken over in 2009 (the original Wieze brewery was a familiar name in Belgium in the 20th century but went bankrupt in the nineties). Thin, loose, off-white head, deep peach blonde colour, hazy. Fruity aroma of orange, peach, apricot, grass, bread, honey, coriander. Round fruity taste, vivid and refreshing, citrus touch, sweetish malt base, grassy and spicy hop bitterishness in the finish. One of many redundant, but nevertheless decent Belgian tripels.

Blonde dorée un rien voilée, effervescence moyenne, col blanc aérien et un peu crémeux. Principalement maltée céréales, mini amertume, notes fruitées, trop sucrée, quelque peu aqueuse.
