Commercial Description:
Its name is derived from the use of wheat and amber malt. German Weizen yeast imparts strong phenolic aromas to balance the unusual wheat flavour. A traditional German Hefeweizen.

A hefe weizen off the tap in CBR is to be encouraged. Bit underdone though compared to the big german beers. Cloves and coriander.

On tap. Pretty standard hefeweizen that ticks all the boxes. Slightly composty. Was hoping for something more adventurous, but when you’ve got a drinkable Australian wheat beer on tap, I’m not going to complain too much.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy yellow, Aroma of ripe banana and marshmallow. Sweet with clean mouthfeel and estery raspberry flavour. One it warms and the carbonation eases off it softens and opens up more. A marked sweet banana flavour is what prevails in the finish.
