2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
on tap at the brewery. pretty close to black with a steady cream head. whiff of chili powder with suggestions of ginger and chipotle; not exactly pleasant drinking, clash of heat and bitter chocolate; not one of the best conceived wig beers

4.7 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 19/20
On tap at the brewery. Best chilli beer ever. Aromas of smoke, chilli, roasted caramel, coffee, and liquorice. Taste is sweet and bitter, with a long spicy finish. Palate is syrupy, with a medium-to-full body. Black, with a thin off-white head.

3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap. Clear garnet-black with an average sized brown head. Aroma: taste-chocolate, chilli, burnt toast. Moderate carbonation, medium bodied, with the chilli leaving a pleasant warmth in the mouth at the end of the beer.

I find these chilli beers diabolical. Why would a venerable brewer like the wig and pen stoop to these depths. Anyway is a half decent beer ruined by a nasty vegetable chilli cardboard flavour. Why ohh why???
