Nice carbonation with thick creamy head. I found the bitterness overpowering for this style

grains, and...well, nothing much else to be honest. unfortunately very bland, though still refreshing. seem to have picked the two worst beers from wigram to start with...

2.6 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tasted on tap from Cassel’s, this beer appeared yellow-gold with a slight haze and the makings of a whitish head. The aromas were of light malt and a faint grassy hop but if I’m honest the aroma would have been better if not served ridiculously cold. I’ll give it the benefit of the doubt, it smelt palatable but not remarkable. There was soft mouthfeel and tingly bubbles at first taste. Faint lemon and sweet malt (but not over-sweet) predominate with a fairly short finish. Again, not helped by the serving temperature. I think palatable but not remarkable sums this beer up rather well. I will try it from the bottle and amend this rating if need be.

2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
Tasted on tap @ The Great Kiwi Beer Festival 2012 in Christchurch. Average beer, malty, with a light-medium bitterness. Missing the nice head of a pilsener

2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
I probably would have appreciated this beer earlier in the day under the sun. Nice crisp clean colour and not overly fizzy means an easy beer to drink. The hops are restrained.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500 ml bottle, refrigerated and left at room temp for about 10 minutes.
Aroma: Strong bread malt. Hops do not come out very strongly but they are noticeable. So not a beautiful hop bouquet as advertised from the bottle anyway.
Appearance: pale yellow, hazy with thick head and good lacing that sticks to the glass in frothy clumps.
Taste: hint of sweetness under an overall medium bitter taste. Lingering sour aftertaste.
Palate: light to medium body with a slightly sticky texture, lively carbonation with a slightly sour astringent finish.
Overall: above average given the field.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle, Christmas present from Mark. Pilsner glass. Murky light golden hue, large white bubbly, lasting head. Wonderful hoppy notes, nice biscuit malt aromas some yeasty dough, some honey. Nice balance of moderate sweet malty and moderate to strong bitter flavour. Finishes crisp and dry, light body, lively carbonation, lightly astringent and bitter finish. Very refreshing and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle. Pours a slightly hazy gright yellow gold with a big white foamy head that shows excellent retention. Fresh zesty fruity hop aroma with underlying sweet grains. Beautiful balance is struck between the clean pale malts and the intriguing fruity hop character. Lots of fresh peachy notes, some underlying perfumey orange blossom. Finish is crisp and bitter as a pilsener should be. Absolutely delicious, and spot on for style. Incidentally, I get none of the yeastiness that some other raters complain of.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Tried on tap at the New Zealand Beer Festival, Wellington. Pours a pale gold with white head. Hoppy aroma with subtle yeast and citrus notes - most notably lemon and grapefruit. The flavour is well balanced with a fruity hop biterness, citrus, particularly orange, malt and a subtle caramel sweetness on the finish. Quite full-bodied for a pilsner and of a high quality, but could benefit from a stronger hop presence.
