Doesn’t bode when you crack the top and your beer decides it wants out asap (sorry keyboard). Aroma is a bit muted and on the whole a beer that while is easy enough to drink, but does not engage my IIPA senses.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, enjoyed with some excellent take-away from the Indian Cafe in Nelson. Pours a deep brassy golden with a frothy white head. Grainy aroma with hints of orchad fruits. Clean grainy palate, medium bodied, with some soft fruity hops in the finish. Quite nice, and a good pairing with our dinner.

3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle, pouring a dark gold with a large white frothy head. A hoopy aroma of fresh grass with some citrus notes. Cirtus and stone fruits in the hoppy palate. Becoming gently drier and grassier in the finish, though also buttery. A very good lager - and I don’t say that often in NZ.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 8/20
Tasted 29/07/2005. 500ml from BrewNZ.
Bright gold with no head. Mild malty nose with a slight banana ester. Nutty malt, a strong grassy bitterness and a touch metallic in the mouth. Astringent and tingly in the finish. Nice label but the beer is average, at best. Brewed for cold swilling, I’d guess.
