COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Danish: Wiibroe Porter (Imperial Stout) huskes stadig som verdens bedste Porter. Den blev lanceret i 1930 og fandt i en årrække også vej til udlandet, hvor den solgtes i mindre flasker. I 1996 vandt Wiibroe Porter sølvmedalje i verdensmesterskabet for ølbrygning.

[Tasted at Porter-/Stouteve at Carlsens.] Welcome back to this revivaled beer after 4 years out of production. Notes of smoke and smoothness are the main notes of this brew and the rest is the usual notes of stouts. Very fullbodied and full of ingredients. Congratulations to carlsberg. PROBABLY THE BEST STOUT IN THE WORLD

UPDATED: MAR 1, 2010 Pitch black with a thick creamy tan head. The aroma is sweet malty with some roasty notes and chocolate. Caramel and light smoke. The flavour is sweet malty, light roasty, chocolate, light hoppy with light coffee notes. Nice creamy texture. Sweet roasty finish. 3.5 Very black with brown top. Aroma very roasted and coffee but also some metalic thing I dont like. Taste is roasted coffee and the 8,2% alc is very well hidden. There is though some salty taste I dont like. Overall great value for money.

This reborn baby pours jet black in my glass and forms a dense, tan but rather weak head. The aroma is slightly metallic, put otherwise dominated by roasted grains and hops. Quite clean... The taste is roasty, coffeish and a bit burned. Theres a slight note of liqourice. The bitterness is nice and full. And both from the hops and the black malts. The only real flaw in this beer is the carbonation. It’s a bit too aggresive and is in stark contrast to the finer nuances of this incredibly smooth and round beer. It’s a real treat at the stupidly low price of 10 kr (about 1,6 USD)

Pours black with a large light brown head. Smells of sweet malts and caramel. Sweet and slightly tart. Malty flavors with some roasted coffee. Hint of sweet fruits. Ever-so-slightly portish. he beerhas a very little hint of sweet liquirish. Full bodied. Medium carbonation. Long dry finish with a slight burning alcohol sensation. Nice, relatively mild Imperial Stout. Thanx to Wiibroe for taking this one up again.

Bottle. What a wonderful Imperial Stout for the prise of 10 Danish kroner. Quit impressive. Average creamy dark head that mostly lasted. Left some good lacing. Quit murky and black coloured. Heave malt with notes of coffee, molasses, chocolate, roasted, nutty. But also notes of horse blanket, toffee, smoke, tar, liquorice. Full bodied with a light oily texture and a flat carbonation. Moderated sweet with balanced bitterness to it. Bitter-sweet finish with an average duration. Quit good Baltic Porte. Welcome back!

One of the worlds best stouts is back. I love this style and Wiibroe Imperial stout has it all. Not to dry not to sweet, well balanced alcohol level and a smooth medium to full body. The Danish microbreweries could learn a lot from this beer

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2007 Its back! After being out of production for 8 years (when the original Wiibroe brewery closed) Carlsberg has now re-launched it. Black colour with a big long lasting creamy light brown head. Aroma of well roasted almost burned malts, coffee, bitter chocolate and hops. Great flavour of the dark roasted malts, good bitterness, coffee, prunes, raisins and a little tobacco. Long dry aftertaste with some alcohol. A super great Imperial stout! 7th of January 2007: It still kicks butt big time!

UPDATED: FEB 12, 2007 Bottle... best-by-date = May 1988... Pitch black ale with a small, well-tanned head. The nose provides notes of Play Dough®, chocolate, soy sauce and caramel. Sweet, chocolatey flavor. Medium-bodied with a milky mouthfeel and pillow-soft carbonation. Finishes chocolatey and sweet. An oldie, but a goody. Thanks to argo0 for sharing his bottle of this vintage brew!
