Bottle. Black color with a small light brown head. Aroma is light malty, dark chocolate, malt sweet, light hoppy, licorice, light smoke. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration (botterne is burnt or chocolate). Body is medium to fule, texture is creamy, carbonation is soft, finish feel is light alcoholic. (Generates sweet memories of old times drinking Wiibroe Imperial stout) ;o))

UPDATED: OCT 15, 2007 Vintage, cirka 2 years old.Wow, First a great thanks to Jacob Lövenlund for sharing this one with me - I loved every sip. The color is black with a chocolate brown head though collapsing. The aroma is of chocolate, roasted malt, and hints of smoke - fantastic. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted bread, coffee, chocolate, and slight smoke. A fantastic beer. I hate Carlsberg for discontinuing this beer - it was the best porter and maybe the best beer on the Danish market. Unfortunatly it is the big buck and not the flavor that desides the destiny of beers.

The new release fresh: A pitch black beer with a huge very dark brown head. The aroma is sweet with strong note of chocolate and roasted malt as well as lighter notes of oranges. The flavor is very sweet with the alcohol tickling the tongue, and with notes of chocolate at first, which resides just a bit to give way to a roasted malt and coffee middle, before a quite bitter finish sets in with bitterness both from chocolate and coffee. UPDATED: SEP 9, 2007 RB # 1200: 33 cL bottle. Pours deepest brown/black with a chocolate brown and thick head. Roasted malt and slight chocolate aroma, smooth. Medium bodied. Coffee, roasted malt and slight chocolate smoothness in the flavour. Slight nutty. Nice bitterness in the finish blendin smoothly in with the malty notes. Smoothness is the keyword to this brew rather than being imperial, greatly well balanced to _almost_ the same extent as Westvleteren.

Blind tasting at sk8vikings porter / stout tasting, beer no 2. Pours black with with little lacing head. Thick alcohol heavy liqourice aroma. Full bodied. Rye flavoured, chocolate, slight liqourice note. Soft roasted malty finish with a warming alcohol note. Has a somewhat aged feel to it. 6-4-7-4-13 3.4

(Bottle 33 cl) Pitch black with a brownish head. Very full-bodied, extremely thick fluid - almost tar-like! Very dry, roasted notes but also some underlying sweetness. Very hoppy finish. The strong alcohol doesn’t really shine through. 291099

UPDATED: APR 7, 2007 Bottled (Thanks JensenTaster!). Pitch black, or enormously dark brown, opaque colour, small white head. Aroma is malts, slight roast and smoke. Flavour is strong smoke, roasted malts, coffee and alcohol. Very mouthdrying. Aftertaste is roasted malts, smoke and aftera while a lot of ashes. Quite dry. Wellbalanced, but the ashyness is almost too much...

Black and thich with rich beige head. Loads of chocolate in the nose. Sweet and full bodied, big coffee flavour, syrupy and salty finish. Flavourful and complex, but would gain from being less sweet.

Rating #3000. Bottle. Best before 05-1985. Black coloured with a beige head. Aroma of dried fruits, prunes and liquorice. Flavour of prunes, liquorice and chocolate. Over the top, but still a fantastic beer.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2010 Pitch black with a fine brown head. Aroma is roasted malts - chcocolate, coffee , smoke & caramel toffee. Easy smoke, liquirice & bitter dark coffee. Texture is medium filling & very smooth. Good lasting finish. Nice! Rerating Feb. 2010: Full bodied. Lovely roast with some smooth chocolate. Roasted bitter end with a vague warmth from alcohol. 3,9 again!

Dark color; creamy brown head. Mid-strength aroma, with roasted malt; cheesy, cellar's mould, milk cream, light phenol… Very good balance of strong characters: malt, roasted malt, liquorice, caramel, light coffee, nuts, sweet body (and strong bitterness at the end). Yes, it's very well brewed and pleasant.

Bottle at KØ07. Black colour, small brown head. Quite powerful flavour with some liquorice. Good, thick mouthfeel.
