Danish: Wiibroe Porter (Imperial Stout) huskes stadig som verdens bedste Porter. Den blev lanceret i 1930 og fandt i en årrække også vej til udlandet, hvor den solgtes i mindre flasker. I 1996 vandt Wiibroe Porter sølvmedalje i verdensmesterskabet for ølbrygning.

The best Danish porter, no doubt. So much sadder to read in the paper today that it is not going to be made any more after 2002.

Black with a brown head. Pours very thick. Nose and body of liquorice, nuts and roasted malt. Creamy and silky feel to it, full-bodied, good balanced. Slightly bitter touch but smooth finish. This beer is slihtly more bitter and less sweet than Gl. Carlsberg Porter. The best porter from Denmark. A scandal that Carlsberg discontinues this porter to leave the market open for Gl. Carlsberg Porter. Shame on you Carlsberg! The beer I had was best before July 22, 2002. But it did not seem to be a problem.

Perhaps the best damed beer I ever have tasted. A dark brow full-bodied beer with a long after taste of coffee og a bit chololate. All most like Thisted Bryghus’s Limfjordsporter or Samuel Smith Imperial Stout - only much better. Pleace do try it.

The best imperial stout in the world. Much more powerful than both the British and the other Danish stouts. Wonderful black colour with a tasty and lasting brown head. Roasty and powerful aroma. The flavour is more bitter and less sweet than Gl. Carlsberg Porter. Superb palate. If you like Fernet Branca, like I do, you’ll love this beer.

One of the worlds best stouts is back. I love this style and Wiibroe Imperial stout has it all. Not to dry not to sweet, well balanced alcohol level and a smooth medium to full body. The Danish microbreweries could learn a lot from this beer

Bottle from Papsoe, sampled with Zinister. Thanks!
Oh my goodness... this is goooood stuff. One of the best beers I’ve ever had. Pours darker than 2am in the Sonoran desert with an aroma of cocoa infused chocolate covered cherry. Tastes like a fresh batch of roasted cocoa topped with chocolate syrup with a side of coffee. If this doesn’t coat your tongue right, nothing will. This is one incredible beer. I should’ve hoarded this one out of Zinister’s reach!!!

Carlsberg, for denne ene øl er i tilgivet alt det rævepis i brygger. Pours almost black. Powerful coffee aroma; malt, hops, coffee, caramel flavour. Beautiful. Eminently drinkable.

Expired last year: Black, with a medium, khaki head. Head is lasting, with nice lace. Complex, subtle aroma. Touches of smoke, roasted malt, chocolate, caramel, and nuts. Nice carbonation, thick, creamy, body. Calm, flavors of caramel, nuts, burnt and roasty, malts. Finish is slightly bitter, roasty, very smooth. So very smooth, and balanced with no acidity or oxidation. Many thanks to Mads, and the person that gave him the bottle to send!
