Shnoodlepip – 6.5% – Pink Pepper + Barrels + Passion Fruit + Hibiscus
The next beer to appear this summer will be one of the most exciting we are yet to be involved with…
A collaboration of 3 brewers, 3 nationalities and 6 ideas.
We collaborate to learn, experiment and enjoy. With this beer we have explored new ideas, techniques, ingredients, combinations and processes.
Kelly Ryan from Good George Beer in NZ, Brett Ellis (originally from the US) from the Wild Beer Co, and Mark Tranter from Burning Sky Brewery have used their combined knowledge and experiences to create an incredibly unusual and complex beer, at every opportunity they have sourced an amazing ingredient or tried an alternative technique.
Grain – Spices – Yeast – Wood – Fruit – Flowers
20130724-095219.jpg Somerset Sharpham Park Spelt has been used for a full body. Pink peppercorns give a gentle sweet spiciness. Saison and Brettanomyces yeast strains lead to a dry spicy character that will continue to evolve. Wood-ageing in French red wine barrels for 4 months adds depth and oak. Passion-fruit brings a tart tropical fruit character. The 4 month ageing process has been finished off with amazingly tangy Hibiscus flowers.
That is one shnoodlepippin beer!
Shnoodlepip will be available in 330ml bottles and keykegs from mid-August.

Bottle from Cotteridge Wines, Birmingham. Poured a hazy medium amber with a thin broken white head after some initial frothy bubbles. The aroma is acid citrus sour. The flavour is moderate sour with a smooth, light acid, rich passion fruit, dry, light spice palate. Light to moderate bodied with lively carbonation. Nicely balanced and great with food.

33cl bottle. Pours rich cloudy orange with a fine textured creamy off white head. Wonderful Aroma of sweet malts, honey, pepper, sweet fruits, lemon, yeast, lactic acidity, some thick syrupy sweetness. One of the best smelling beer ever had. Taste is less complex with predominant acid notes, some berries, a lot of spices and some funky notes. Dry finish with no bitterness and a light saltiness. Light body, watery texture, medium carbonation. Unusual but very good.

Bottle from Vika enjoyed at home
Pours orange with a heavy haze, big white frothy head. Smell of berries, fuink, musty cellar, light fruits, hints of burnt rubber in the back. Moderate sweet, quite fruity, a good kick of brett flavors, some fruity berres and passion fruits, some hints of fruit acids. Very complex flavor profile and a great beer!

Bottle from ’Jacks’, Goring-on-Thames, Oxon, consumed at home, Sunday 28th December 2014 A chill haze (served straight from fridge).filmy head, pretty good clarity, mid, warm gold. Wonderfully tart and zappy, unfortunately I have just been picking and adding fresh thyme to my shepherds pie so my hands are rather reeking of thyme, so the pink peppercorns, hibiscus etc are somewhat tamed, no worries we’ll get what we can. I can after a while get a hint of peppery spice on nose and this tingles the tongue also and there is a light raspberry like zappiness to this. Its lovely. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
