3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle @ The Font, Manchester
Light pink orange, hazy, thin off white head
Aroma of soft citrus fruits, red wine barrel, soft tart, light pepper, strange aroma, slight vegetal (not in a bad way)
Taste of soft vitrus, soft red wine, woody, bit vegetal spicy, quite tart, floral. unusual mishmash of flavour, spicy, peppery, yeah it’s quite f*cked up
Palate - Medium carb and body, quite tart and tangy, fairly acidic, alcohol is prominent though. Finish as main flavour
Overall - Interesting beer worth trying

A wonderful, unique beer. A bit chunky on pouring, but the balance between components is perfect with a nice sour finish. Love it.

3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
330ml Bottle - Amber red in colour. Fruity and vinous aroma with notes of wine, some musty hints, wood and dried fruit. Sharp and fruity taste with sultanas, raisins, caramel, wood, pepper and some very subtle tropical fruit notes. There’s a lot going on in this beer and it’s quite complex, yet fairly easy to drink.

Pours a beautiful rose colour. Nice fruity aroma. Tastes a little too much of hibiscus for my liking but a nice beer none the less

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle from Sourced Market St Pancras and drunk at home. Pink gold lasting pink head. A bit of a wild fruity floral aroma. Then too much carbonation so I swirled the glass a lot to get rid of it. A weird fruity hoppy slightly sour beer. Some sweetness towards the finish then a harsh bitterness on the finish. Drinkable enough, not sure I’d want another. Weird fruity beer.

Bottle from sharrow Vale beer shop, sheffield. Clouded rose/orange ale, with thick creamy white head. Aroma is peppery and tart with passionfruit, not overly sweet though. Taste is pepper and sweet tart tropical fruit. Slightly Prickly carbonation and quite thick body. Perfectly balanced ale, tasty and refreshing.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Who would think of adding bursting fruit flavours to a sour beer? The Belgians? Who would mix in crazy ingredients like pink peppercorns and hibiscus? The Japanese? No, it’s the Wild Beer guys from Somerset, with overseas help, as if they needed it to be innovative. To be fair, for me, it overpromises. The sourness and passion fruit dominate - nothing wrong with that, but the other elements don’t come through strongly enough for me. It’s cloudy orange with a hint of pink, little head, and an unspectacular mouthfeel. Interesting rather than compelling.
