Epic by name, epic by nature, this Farmhouse Ale is a transcontinental fusion of Belgium’s eclectic beer culture and the feisty hops of North America brought to life with the aid of West Country artisanal brewing wizardry and judicious use of the US-grown Sorachi Ace hop. On the nose, the hops deliver a big splash of tropical fruit, followed by ripples of well-seasoned spiciness spreading outwards. In the mouth a tangy, bittersweet fruitiness holds sway, while tangerine oranges tap dance their way across the tongue in the finish.

Pours a cloudy orange with no head. Aroma is tangerine, banana and belgian yeast. The taste is that lemongrass you get with Sorachi Ace hops followed by an orange rind finish. Pleasant but not epic

bottle from M&S Exeter. Hazy pale yellow, tall white head. Wild nose. Light-bodied, malty start, grainy touch and a citrusy-fruity background, also a yeasty funkyness present. Delicious and exciting.

Sampled draft @ Oersoep Craft Beer Festival 2015. Hazy orange, HUGE, HUGE creamy off-white head. Nose is exotic fruits, peach, strong fruit, blue cheese. Taste is the Sorachi Ace blue cheese, lots of it, mixed with peach, exotic fruit, light yoghurt, creamy, bread, faint floral in the back. Creamy body. My kind of beer. Pretty epic indeed.

Draft sample @ Oersoep Bierfest 2015, Nijmegen.

I always struggle with saison and do so here too. Quite a high carbonation and overpowering (if you ask me) funk from the yeast. I love the wild and sour brews from these guys. Plenty of that here but maybe less creative than in others.

Bottle from Beer52, Pale yellow colour, tall white head. I agree with other reviewers and describe the head as "wild" just something different to it that works. Light-bodied, malty, grainy and a citrusy background, also a yeast presence. Not terrible but not one I could session drink.

Quite pale orange body with a creamy, off-white head that settles as a fully lasting layer, good lacing. Strong aroma of Belgian yeast, lots of sweet fruits including banana, citrus and spices. Strong spicy flavour of pepper. Lots of yeast, but it feels closer to saison yeast than the generic Belgian feel of the aroma, it has a certain farmhouse quality with traces of funk. Lots of light generic fruits, and a pleasant amount of lemon. Light sweet and light acidic taste with a light to moderate bitter and long-lasting finish. Fairly light body, dry and quite lively carbonation. Crisp and refreshing, a very nice saison.

Nice pour, gentle carbo, deep yellow golden color, stable small head. A: perfect saison ipa mix, with a relatively strong fruitiness with lychee, pineapple, pear. Doughy, slightly yeasty fresh grains. T: ipa dominates, very little saison. Slightly fruity bitter start with citrus and soap notes. Fresh and crisp fruity bitter development, bit doughy. Light body. Neutral aftertaste.
