Epic by name, epic by nature, this Farmhouse Ale is a transcontinental fusion of Belgium’s eclectic beer culture and the feisty hops of North America brought to life with the aid of West Country artisanal brewing wizardry and judicious use of the US-grown Sorachi Ace hop. On the nose, the hops deliver a big splash of tropical fruit, followed by ripples of well-seasoned spiciness spreading outwards. In the mouth a tangy, bittersweet fruitiness holds sway, while tangerine oranges tap dance their way across the tongue in the finish.

Bottle. Poured with a big head and slightly cloudy.Fruity with a bitter finnish that lingers for some time. A bit too bitter for my personal taste but still a good attempt at this very specialist style.

330ml bottle. Barely clear, yellow-ish deep golden colour with huge, frothy, half-way asting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy, yeasty spicy, air freshener aroma, sweet-ish hints of peach, some citrus. Taste is tangy with sweet-ish biscuity malty basis, a touch of sugar powder, peppery yeasty spiciness, bitter hints of orange zest.

Bottle at Sip (€ 3.95). Hazy golden colour. Head is big and fluffy, white, with some good thick lacing. Loads of bubbles. On the nose it’s fruity and wheaty, lemon peel spiciness and acidity. Taste is mellow fruity sweet, citrusy, wheaty-yeasty. Soft on the palate, with light to medium body. Thin carbonation. Pretty nice hybrid.

330ml bottle, catered in an epic Germanic (UK/NL/DE) saison load by idiosynkrasie, ta! Appealing airfreshener & bubblegum exotics (citrus zest, maracuya, lemon grass) spray from a thin whispy yellow broth. Saison-dry, otherwise a funkless dry pale ale, making UK "judicious use" of US-grown Sorachi Ace - my favourite label quote. Translates into: excellent attentuated pale malts, dry to old lemon peel, carrying orange, peach quark, tangerine. Bit thin/aerated, again that air freshener. Otherwise Very likeable West Country gentry/ified saison.

Poured a hazy light amber with a frothy off white head. Aroma of sweet malt, saison yeast and light citrus. Light body, flavour as the aroma, quite tart and refreshing with a residual bitterness.

Bottle @ derat, large sample. Slight hazy golden color, short frothy head. Aroma is funky, spicy, bit tropical fruit, bubblegum, Brett, farmhouse. Bit bitter in taste, dry, funky again. Nice fruity Orvally farmhouse stuff.

Bottle. Hazy yellow/orange with a medium sized frothy white head. Herbal and light dusty nose. Flavour is fruity; lemon, melon, more generic bubblegum things, dust, dry green plants, light spicy. Long lemony finish. Mild sweet with balanced bitterness. Gentle carbonation, soft mouthfeel. Interesting and enjoyable.
