Epic by name, epic by nature, this Farmhouse Ale is a transcontinental fusion of Belgium’s eclectic beer culture and the feisty hops of North America brought to life with the aid of West Country artisanal brewing wizardry and judicious use of the US-grown Sorachi Ace hop. On the nose, the hops deliver a big splash of tropical fruit, followed by ripples of well-seasoned spiciness spreading outwards. In the mouth a tangy, bittersweet fruitiness holds sway, while tangerine oranges tap dance their way across the tongue in the finish.

Bottle from Cocktails, Littleborough. Slightly hazy yellow with a small bubbly head. Has a very citrus hoppy character with lemon very evident in its nose, and also in its taste. There’s not a huge bitterness though despite its very obvious flavours.

Bottle. Semi hazy golden beer with a large white head. Aroma is spicy with notes of citrus, wheat, herbs, hay and grass. Flavor is spicy with notes of grain, bread, spices, citrus and yeast. Well balanced but nothing exciting.

Buona birra, onesta ed in linea con il genere. Frutta dolce, leggera acidità, zesty and crispy. Rinfrescante e pulita, taglia bene con il finale amaro. Buona

Bottle @ home. Clear pale orange color, medium sized off-white head. Aroma has more citrussy hops than I would have expected beforehand. Taste also has quite an up front citrus hop flavor, orangepeel, lightly fruitpeel bitter. Decent body and carbonation.

(Wild Beer Epic Saison) Bottle 330 ml at home, served into a teku, ABV 5% Golden yellow colour on the body, mostly clear, with a tall, snow-white head on top, soapy, with very good retention., leaving medium lacing on the glass. Fresh aroma, very fruity with random floral notes, peach, light melon, tropical fruits, bubblegum. A hint of sourness at first before a sharp bitterness kicks in, lemon peel, tangerine, bay leaves, some pepper on the finish. Medium thin body, soft carbonation. Quite dry palate. Nice.

330ml bottle. Barely clear, yellow-ish deep golden colour with huge, frothy, half-way asting, minimally lacing, white head. Fruity hoppy, yeasty spicy, air freshener aroma, sweet-ish hints of peach, some citrus. Taste is tangy with sweet-ish biscuity malty basis, a touch of sugar powder, peppery yeasty spiciness, bitter hints of orange zest.

UPDATED: MAY 16, 2015 Keg at Ox 184, and at later time a bottle. Pours slightly hazy pale golden. Aroma is yeast, some fruits, sth I cannot describe, spices. Flavour is that sth, spices, grass, yeast. Some berries. I think that sth characterising this beer, and familiar from some others as well, is the Sorachi ace.
