3.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Keg Old Fountain London 20/02/14. A ginger coloured beer with a white head and lace. A sweet fizzy fruity nose. Sugary and hoppy in the mouth. A really sweet IPA with Belgian yeasty notes which although they give it character from run of the mill IPAs doesn’t really work for me.

4.1 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 17/20
Keg at BrewDog Shepherd’s Bush - London. Pours cloudy, orange-gold with a thick, creamy off-white head. Beautiful aroma just stacked with juicy, citrusy hops, lots of melon, orange, traces of poopy brett and tangerine. Light sweet flavor with sturdy citrus hop character, more melon, tangerine, mango, slight funk in the background, a bit of pale wood. Light to medium bodied with fine, massaging carbonation. Fairly dry on the finish with just enough pale malt sweetness, some tangerine rind bitterness, light bretty musk, faint grassy bitterness, perhaps some pine needles, papaya, grapefruit. Extremely well balanced and drinkable. Exceptional.

2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
AROMA: cheese, grass, citrus,
APPEARANCE: pale, hazy, white foam, minimal head,
TASTE: very bitter, medium sourness,
PALATE: medium body, sticky, lively, astringent, bitter, long finish,
OVERALL: reminiscent of Orval, but severely lacks the balance required to make this enjoyable: too bitter and too much citrus, its the overpowering hops

Old Fountain. Keg. Hazy deep amber beer, small white head. Palate is light and dry and minerally crisp. Lightly sour dried fruits and light orange marmalade. Light finish. It’s fine but I’m not getting these high ratings.
