Draught at In De Wildeman, for Carnivale Brettanomyces. Creamy, irregular, sticky, yellowish white head, cloudy straw blonde colour. Aroma of grapefruit, mango, dry white wine, grass, pine needles, kiwi, strawberry yoghurt, leather, gooseberries and pond water - a bit weird, like most of this brewery’s beers, but not necessarily unpleasant. Crisp and fruity onset, bit minerally, salty accent and spicy yeastiness, soft mouthfeel, leathery Brett effects overpowered by a long, dry, resiny hop bitterness. I am still not entirely convinced the hoppiness of an IPA and ’wild’ yeast combine well, but this one was surely enjoyable.

Tap @IndeWildeman. Golden color. Fermenten peach and mango in the aroma. Bretty notes. Brett and vegetables Dominating the flavor. Just a light sourness, mango. Firm grassy earthy hops. Bone dry. Nice!

Seems to be trying to be a more IPAish Orval. Aroma from the bottle was IPA/hops. The aroma from the glass was brett-ish, hoppy but not as hoppy as from the bottle...interesting the difference. Pours absolutely brilliant gold, decent head that didn’t last. No lace. Bitter, somewhat sour. Tastes of citrus, and blue cheese funk.

Aroma of tropical fruits, grass, floral notes, subtle funk, light resin, fresh hops. Flavour is medium bitter. Killer Brett IPA. However, I’m guessing my sample was on the fresh side rather than aged. I would love to find out how this ’evolves’.

Clear pale yellow beer, creamy white head, unstable, adhesive, leaving a nice lacing in the glass. Aroma: very soapy, artificial brett, floral, more soap, a bit off. MF: ok carbon, medium body. Taste: sourish, dirty, sulphur (’putje’), citrus, pretty soapy, little bitter. Aftertaste: soft bitterness, soapy, artificial brett, some citrus.

Drinking this from a fresh bottle to see how it changes over time later. This pours from the bottle with a hazy yellow/gold with an outstanding head that just won’t go away. The smell is mild and clean with hops and some citrus notes. The taste is very citrus filled in the front, mostly lemon. There is quite a sour punch to it, but not overwhelming and balanced with the hops. The end is pith and yeast with a bit of grass. Finishes clean with only a mild linger.
