COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bubbles + Apples + Wild Yeast photo (16) Named after the ancient Greek goddess of beer, this is an equally divine Belgian-style saison with a copious amount of New Zealand hops, freshly harvested Somerset apple juice and wild yeast added to the mix. However, we like to take things just that bit further (it’s the Wild way!) — once bottled the beer undergoes a secondary fermentation with champagne yeast, giving it a brisk spritziness on the tongue. Serve chilled in a champagne flute to allow the bouquet of playfully aromatic notes to be fully appreciated. Take a sip to enjoy a further cascade of striking and sensuous flavours alongside the carefree champagne-like spritziness. The long, dry finish is both refreshing and complex.

Bottle: Poured a yellow thick haze with white fluffy top coat. Aroma was full of apple fruit and a little funk. Taste is very carbonated with fruit chunks and weird spice finish. More of a juice than a beer feel.

Bottle. Fresh fruity pineapple lemon, yeasty and light spicy aroma. Cloudy yellow with a huge white head. Tart citrus, bitter lemon peel, slightly funky yeasty, and spicy flavor. Medium body, lively carbonation dry finish.

75cl bottle from Ales by Mail. Pours cloudy orange yellow with a big pillowy white head. Aromas of pale apples (O RLY?), Belgian farmyard funk, grain, hay, floral and citrus hops. Slightly sour, light sweetness, medium bitterness. Nice dry profile, long crisp finish with some hop bitterness. Fairly lively, not as much as expected though. Medium body. Liked this, served before dinner in flutes as a sparkling wine, went down well.

One Mile House, NYC tap ($8): Pours a yellow orange color with a white head. Aroma is fruity, apple cider vinegar, some tart aromatic notes. Taste is lightly sour. I don’t think it is too much or too little for what this beer is trying to do. Some light hops. There are a lot of things going on in this beer at the same time. the balance and the mesh isn’t top notch. That said, this is probably the best I have had from the brewers.

Pours a hazy/murky gold with a thick white head. Aroma of bitter tropical fruit, white grapes, funk and apples. Taste is dry, apples, white wine, funk and wheat. Very different.

>> Bright, hazy straw pour with pillowy white foam. Nose is soft, lemon, pear, mild apple. Taste is bubbly, yellow apple, simple, mild sugar. Clean and drinkable. Can’t really knock it except it isn’t a Belgian Strong Ale. There is no way this is 9%. Try 4%.

Fuckin bubbles!?! .. Pours out pear juice .. Fruit skin, lots of Apple, yeast .. Very dry .. Easy going and no sign of the abv ... Decent .. . . Barrel making is a lost art, like flying a kite or pretending to like people around you..

Bottle from Beer Gonzo, Coventry. Cloudy orange in appearance, massive head! Aroma is if apples, some grapefruit and fruity yeasty funk. Taste is apples, orange, bitter spices. Not too sour, but pretty bitter. More beer then champagne, but I like the light spritzyness on the tongue afterwards. Good and interesting.

Bottle. Pours a hazy light yellow with a hint of green; the head is very high, fine grained, white, and lacy/pillowy. Nose is malic, acetic, vinous, savory , and funky; there’s some stinky cheese, some barnyard, and some fermenting fruit in there. Just a lot going on in the aroma department; on the tongue, though, it starts out straightforward with sweetness and Belgian yeast. On the middle of the mouth, though, it gets odd; there’s some saccharine and some weird medicinal stuff that never quite meshes. The finish turns dry and savory, with an overtone that approximates sharp Cheddar or Emmenthaler. This one’s a little weird for me; a lot going on that never quite meshes.
