Boozy and oaky nose, with a decent mix of chocolate coffee and vanilla. Taste is complex; warming alcohol oaky and a myriad of good roasty flavours. Im feeling marzipan and cherry liquer. The chov, coffee and vanilla are well balanced; I donít find any to be more overpowering than the rest. Nice pleasing warming finish

This is one of my favorites. Pours dark, almost black, with complex aroma of coffee, chocolate and bit of toffee. Same in the taste, with hint of vanilla.

Bottle: Poured a black color stout with a nice dark brown foamy head with good retention and slight lacing notes. Aroma of deep espresso coffee notes with dry roasted black chocolate malt notes. Taste is also dominated by dry espresso notes with some lightly bitter black chocolate notes that are also perceptible. Body is a little bit thin with good carbonation and no apparent alcohol. Well brewed with great variety of flavours that re well balanced between each otherís. My only negative point would be that body was a little bit thin for this beer.

Black with a light beige head. Aroma is coffee, chocolate, vanilla, dates, fig, coconut. Full bodied, slightly velvety mouthfeel, smooth on the palate with a complex finish. Taste is coffee, vanilla, chocolate, dates, fig, hint of coconut & marshmallow. Yum.

Bottle, 06/06/15, thanks bluus. Pours dark brown, black with a mocha head. Aroma is roast, salty liquorice, mocha, coffee. Wonderful. Taste is roast, liquorice, some earthiness, light sour, chocolate, vanilla. Just wonderful. One of the best Iíve tasted.

33 cl bottle @ home. Pours black with a tiny bit of sediment and a tan head that leaves a little lacing. Aroma and flavour are chocolate, roasted malt, vanilla, and liquorice - with a slightly bitter finish. ABV is fairly well hidden

Wow, one of those beers that I could sniff for ages! Coffee, chocolate and liquorice . The liquorice takes hold in the mouth, this is almost world class, just needs something extra on the finish, and it would be pushing a 5.

Bottle from de Molen beershop, cant seem to find a BB date, large sample. Dark color, short head, just some lacing. Aroma of vanilla, roasted malts, bit spicy coffee, dark chocolate, mocha, bit ash and tar. Soft sweet taste, vanilla and choc again, slight roast, slight alcoholic finish. Slight thin, could be a bit more creamy to support the vanilla pudding with some caramel in the finish. Still, I like this kind of stuff.

[bottle] Sweet, dark molasses and pumpernickel bread aroma with plenty of dried fruit, tobacco and faint vanilla, that wafts in with some ethanol. Opaque garnet-black with clear highlights under a thin tan sheet and collar of a fine bead. Flavour is potent pumpernickel, molasses, and dried fruit immediately followed by sweet vanilla and a faint, coffee accent and tang. Moderate to low bitterness. Full body, chewy, with moderate to low carbonation and a smooth and slightly warming feel.

SarkyNorthener (2918) - West Bromwich (Yorkshire Expat), West Midlands, ENGLAND - MAY 8, 2015
Bottle from cellar door, four oaks, Sutton Coldfield. Black beer with puddles of a tan head that reduces to just around the rim. Aroma of coffe, chocolate, ash, dark fruits, licorice and a hint of smoke. Taste is dark malts, a touch of treacle, sweet, chocolate, coffee and licorice with a light smoke and spice finish. Medium bodied and creamy. Excellent smooth balanced and easy drinking beer, loved it.
