330 ml bottle. Dar, dark brown, very close to black body with a fine, medium sized pale beige head. Aroma has dark malt, roasted coffee and wood. Flavor is quite smooth, medium roasted dark malt. There is more roast here, but I feel this is like roasted expresso coffee, some dark chocolate, hint of dry fruit, balanced bitterness and quite much wood going towards something earthy. The alcohol is incredible well hidden, it event doesn’t feel very hot, just a subtle hint. Fien body and aftertaste. Feels a bit one dimensional malty and woody at the first few sips, but by the end of the bottle I’m really enjoying this one.

22.1.2015. Look is oily and intense. Aroma is pure espresso, simply delicious. Also roasted dark malts. Flavour also has intense coffee, also decent sweetness, balance is to the sweeter side. Dark chocolate is also present. Tasty!

Frisse geur. Rouwen bittere groente geur. Voegt niks toe.

33cl Bottle from Beer Boutique. Black colour, thin beige head. Aroma of vanilla, soft well-integrated coffee, roasted malts, some chocolate, quite sweet but really nice. Flavour is of coffee, vanilla, chocolate, everything it promises to be, quite sweet but well-balanced imho. Medium bodied at best. Nice.

Bottle at home, from Ales By Mail, gawd knows how I’ve managed to not rate this one so far @solidcatchup 13/03/15. Pitch black with a decent tan covering that dissipates to a swirl and edgeward. Nose is chocolate, vanilla bean, light charr, spice, roast malt, coffee notes. Taste comprises shades of dark fruit, chocolate truffles, booze tunes, coffee tang, spice, caramel shortbread. Full bodied, oily soft feel, lightly warming booze in the close. Solid impy, drinks a touch below its ABV, nice sipper - chocolate maltesers all the way at the end!

330ml bottle from Hemelvaart Bier Café, Bedale. Black in colour, thin brown foam head leaving lacing and aroma of molasses, milk chocolate, roast malt, raisins, vanilla. Flavour is sweet malty, caramel, chocolate & coffee, brown sugar, toffee, raisins, plus some woody & boozy notes. Oily mouthfeel, medium to full bodied, soft carbonation, lingering chocolate & caramel in the finish. Nicely drinkable.

Bottle 33 cl. Black with a lightbrown head. Interesting coffee, chocolate, smoke, vanilla aroma. Light bitter, light sweet with a nice long coffee and vanilla ending. The alcohol is well hidden.

kermis (6077) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAR 4, 2015
Bottle shared. Pours dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma of big milk chocolate, roast, fudge, light coffee, light vanilla, toffee, really a dessert in a glass. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter. Coffee coming out nicely in the palate and balancing against the sweeter notes in the flavor. Alcohol is completely hidden though strong and it really feels like a lighter ABV. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. Not the most complex of stouts but easy drinking and very enjoyable for what it is.

330ml bottle. Pours dark red brown with a small quick disapering white head. Aroma is bitter coffee, burnt toast, roasted malts an liquorice. Really nice silky smooth texture, low on carbonation. Full mouth feel. You can taste the alcohol a little but its mainly really nice bitter coffee, cocoa, and sweet. After taste lasts for a long time and is mostly chocolate and vanilla. A decent and slightly different imperial stout. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
