Nice warm chocolatey aroma, pours a lovely dark black colour with a small deep brown brown head that dissipates quickly, but the liquid is very viscous. The taste is really nice lots of caramel, chocolate and a bitter finish. Overall a nice strong stout, but a little on the heavy side. Could do with more bitterness to balance the sweetness.

Nose is smoke, vanilla, espresso and oak. Taste leads with vanilla cream, into espresso, and finishing with smoke. Perhaps a little to creamy in the finish. Mouthfeel is cream, with alcohol warmth, but not harsh. A very nice winter warmer.

UPDATED: JUN 8, 2013 Bottle from The Bottle Shop, Cardiff. Pours dark brown with beige head. Lovely coffee and chocolate aroma bursting from the glass, a sweetness there too. Roasted malt aftertaste. Surprisingly lively, and not much booze in the flavour considering. Solid beer, will have again for sure.

omhper (17556) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - MAY 29, 2013
Bottled at Babajan, Stockholm. Pitch black with beige head. Aroma of chocolate and vanilla. Sweet with full body and rounded mouthfeel. Heavu with molasses and syrup, lots of coffee and chocolate. Warming, syrupy finish with growing bitterness. Too sweet and somewhat superficial.

smells of spicy chocolatey espresso with a massive coffee and caramel hit in the taste. Excellent.

Idiosynkrasie (1971) - Bielefeld, GERMANY - MAY 16, 2013
330ml bottle. Black colour with average, firm, frothy, fairly lasting, moderately lacing, brown head. Slightly grainy dark malty aroma, cocoa, nougat, coffee. Taste is initially pure coffee, later with notes of roasted malt, cocoa, roasted coffee beans, grainy overtones, dry in general; alcohol is permanently latent, in the finish quite recognizable.

Love the coffee - also the strong chocolate and vanilla overtones. Yes, it’s quite a raw taste but it stretches further than most beers to hit these strong notes. Will definitely be drinking more.

030413. Bottle at home. Pours black with a nice high head. Aroma roasted malts, licorice. Not the best imp aroma though. Chocolate and coffee notes. Feels a bit raw. Might age well. Not Bad.

Delicious. Alcohol not present at all, quite a feat at 11%. Hint of vanilla, lovely espresso hit, nice and bitter. Went well with the chili beef sliced biltong. I want a Black Flag t-shirt, just not sure which one. The bars and the name, or My War? Not the blue one, the white one. You decide...
