12oz bottle from Wegmanís King of Prussia, PA. Raspberry red with a thin pink head and lively carbonation, fruity aroma - presumably blackberry with some underlying malt to show that there is some beer in there somewhere; surprisingly full bodied, with quite a weight to it, the taste is really sweet and grainy; unfortunately then alcohol then hits the back of the throat like petroleum spirit, making it more like a cheap alcopop. Worth a try - but only once.

Pours deep purple into a snifter. Purple head with little retention recedes to bubble surface. Blackberry aromas. Medium bodied with sweet blackberry cobbler front to back. Mildly bitter, rotten seed in the medium-length finish. Not a lot of lager characteristics in this one... but if you like blackberries, itís an easy drinker, but this could sneak up on you as the 8% is well hidden...

The aroma is very sweet and almost exactly like berry candy. The appearance is deep purple red with a small head. The taste is like the aroma with a touch of funk. The palate is thin. Overall itís macro swill but it smells nice and is not super offensive just seems artificial and so cloyingly sweet I canít finish it.

12oz twist-off bottle, purple cap w/ dog. Purple Drink color, pink head. Aroma of berries, rich juice syrup scent. Tart and sweet syrupy nose. Cough syrup flavor. Mixed berries and some actual beer flavor hidden under all of the fruit syrup. Sweet finish. I liked this better than Wild Red! (3362)

Aurelius (4118) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 16, 2013
Sweet, artificial grape aroma. Twist off longneck. Purple-black, clear, carpeting pinky head. Very sweet, boozy, unpleasantly bitter with alcohol, jammy, like a $2 bottle of wino wine. Light body, clingy sweet finish. Overall, like someone dropped a Pop Tart in a bottle of rubbing alcohol. ABC Liquors, Bull Run.

hotstuff (4069) - Indiana, USA - MAY 9, 2014
Rated on 5-06-2014 (Bottle) This beer has a smooth pink head with a long retention, transparent reddish body, fizzy, lively, fast rising carbonation, and a fair amount of lacing. The aroma is heavy artificial berries, sweet and tart. The flavor is artificial berries, very sweet, lightly sour, and lightly bitter. The mouthfeel is smooth and this beer is light bodied. The flavor of this beer is yucky tasting. Too artificial and it is a beer I do not recommend.

When I bought this I thought it was some kind of schwartz beer from the look of the label only to find it was just another version of the wild blue AB beer but with different flavorings. From a twist off bottle this had a big blackberry aroma, very nice on the olfactory. Did not smell artificial. The first taste is sweeter blackberries but there is this alky laced thing happening that makes me think the alky was added in, not normally fermented. Yes alky backbone never goes away in this brew. Like many alky beer pops Iíve had in the past reminds me of alot of the St. Ides brew pops.

Deep purple with a quickly fading purplish head that leaves no lacing. Aroma of heavy blackberry and grapes, smells a bit too much like kool-aid and not enough like beer. It kind of tastes like kool-aid (or grape soda) too but at least it pounds the taste of the fruit home unlike a lot of fruit beers out there. It has a bit of artificial aftertaste and leaves me scratching my head to why AB has to make these fruity beers at 8%.

Aroma is blackberries, cherries and a hint of malts. The flavor is blackberries, sweetness and a mild hint of hops in the finish.

Pours purple with an off-pink head. Aroma is strong blackberry, very natural flavour....you almost expect some real seed grit...high ABV is noticable at first, then settles in. Not really "beery", but definitely a great taste and feel. Do you remember the old "Scot-Lad" brands of soda pop? This is like the blackberry soda one with booze....and thatís not a bad thing. A quirky, fun fruit beer.
