Huge thanks to Adam (the alum) and Jessica for leaving this one for me after Hunahpus. Pours a cloudy orange. Aromas are bold apple pie skies with a nice honey sweetness. Flavor is nice sweet honey up front. It quickly becomes dominated with pie spices. The cinnamon really stands out and remains long after taking a sip. Only flaw is its a bit on the thin side. Wonderful mead!

Bottle courtesy of Clockwork at his Dec 8th 2012 tasting. Pours a hazy orange with no head. Aroma is crazy spices, honey, apple and pear. Mouthfeel is medium to full with notes of apple cinnamon pie, spice, honey and sugar. Wonderful mead.

Bottle at a tasting at James’s place. Pours a hazed golden amber. Smells of a pile of cinnamon. Big bright cinnamon on the nose, big apples and a lot of spice. Medium bodied, big and spicy, loads of cinnamon. Never gets to the Fireball level, but so well developed. Amazing stuff. Lovely balance of spice and apples with honey. Very well done.

On tap at bad apple. 6oz pour into a snifter... Pours a mostly trans orange Copper brown even with a thin bubbly head... Aroma is aplenty with honey and apple with cinammon to a lesser extent but comes through more after warming up to room temperature... Flavors are a complete recopy of the aroma with a body a tad on the thinner side. Nice flavors but body somewhat lacking overall. still tasty and a nice surprise to find on tap.

clear pinkish color, no head or lace (it’s mead!). nose of cinnamon. flavor of honey with a great cinnamon burn. medium bodied, sweet finish. tingly cinnamon for a tingly good time (note to wild blossom: feel free to use that for a slogan if you want). we mixed this with several different beers...with mixed results. be sure to dig the spice bag out of the bottle and pass it around the table. sample provided by rayboy01 at flossmoor station Hi-Fi Rye release.

Thanks to RAYBOY01 for bringing this to Flossmoor Station’s Hi-Fi Rye release. Good looking mead, pouring a pale salmon body with healthy legs. The aroma was full of apple and cinnamon with a honey sweetness and a touch of citrus. The additional spices added a balancing bitterness to the flavor, quite heavy with cinnamon, apple, and honey. Very, very nice. Perhaps encouraged by the brewpub’s rye wine and current IPA that I’d been drinking, I had some blended with the IPA (not a good idea), the pub’s Irish stout (good idea), and with some KBS graciously provided by one of the Four Horsemen (dandy idea). This is truly a tasty, versatile mead.

Pale clear pink pour...still with legs. The nose is huge apple and cinnamon upfront, along with very robust alcohol esters. The flavors are sweet apple cider, a complex melange of spiciness, with cinnamon leading the way, but chamomile and citrus highlight are noticable as well. Very drinkable and awrming...I had a glass cold, I had a glass mulled, I had a glass mixed with an IPA and finally one blended with a hefty portion of KBS...very impressed with the quality and complexity of this mead. The bottle contained a spice-filled teabag that infused it’s tasty goodness to the mead as it bottle-aged. Several members of our FS mugclub finally decided to gum the spice bag after the mead was all gone...at least I hope it was AFTER the mead was drained. Good stuff!
