Sampled at the Blarney Stone’s Solstice Beer Fest, Oak Forest, IL. Wow! A sweet chocolate mead! Do I need to say more, well, all right. Color is a little pinkish. Good milk chocolate smell, but my nose is acting up, so I may not have gotten the best impression. And so, too, it is full of chocolate flavor. An impression of milk, maybe from the honey sweetness. Quite possibly the best alcoholic beverage with chocolate that I’ve found.

Pours a pale yellow with pink tones. Aroma of earthy waxy honey and light honey. Flavor is nice chocolate. Earthy raw nibs with light milky notes. Wonderful honey sweetness rounds thinks out. A wonderful dessert mead.

Bottle donated by Wild Blossom at HOPS Oktoberfest. Pours a deep gold, minimal brown hints. Noes is quite floral, nice honey notes, light tart note. Some faint soft chocolate notes as well. On taste, softly sweet, some balancing acidity. Nice floral honey profile as well. Not super deep, but well balanced.

Bottle at James’ place for A Clocking New Years! Pours a clear gold with no head. Chocolate and a bit of honey on the nose. Sweet, chocolate and warm honey, with a nice vanilla tone. Lingering chocolate, cocoa, vanilla. Lovely.

still, sweet, standard strength. clear faint reddish pink body. rose hip perfume, cocoa powder, flower-scented oil and generic berry fruit esters; low alcohol in the nose and mostly goes unnoticed in the flavor, which helps. it’s a bit opaque, blurred and dull together. the cocoa is soft and complimentary but the honey expression more dull.

It may be because I was freezing my tuckus off at DLD when I picked this up from the The LoSBD table first thing in thew morning, but this went down great. A chocolate mead? I imagined it was going to be sickeningly sweet, but I liked it. It had a very pale golden body and seemed just a bit thin. The aroma had a light honey sweetness, a soft dried floral scent, and just a touch of chocolate. The chocolate seemed more prominent in the flavor, but it melded well with the dry honey sweetness and lingered into the finish. Interesting.

Pale sparkling golden pour...still, no head. The mead has moderately lingering legs when swirled. Very sweet floral/herbal nose with the tiniest hint of chocolate. The flavors are similarly floral/herbal, and definitely honey sweet, with the chocolate well in the background upfront, but coming on strongly in the aftertaste. Very nice dessert type drink.
