Thanks to Holdenn for bringing this to DLD. Just found my notes on this. Poured a deep red/purple color. Nice berry sweet aroma. Taste was sticky sweet honey, berries were tart to start and seemed to get sweeter as I went. I really enjoyed this. A little sweet, but great in small amounts.

May 1, 2008 750 ml bottle brought to DLD. I’ve had this for over a year, and I’ve been looking for a reason to open a whole bottle of mead. Pours a red purple color with a bubbled clear white head. Nose is sweet and fruity. Lots of mulberries and inconspicuous berries. Some residual honey sweetness but the sweetness is balanced with a light berry tartness. The flavor is filled with more of those mulberries that I used to pick from the tree in my backyard for most of my childhood. Well done. I enjoyed this quite a bit.

Nov 12, 2007 Sampled at West Lakeview Liquors, Chicago Wild Blossom tasting. Label says "Wild Berry Mead". Dark red and hazy. Dark berry, semi sweet aroma. A very flavorful sweet raspberry, with tart finish. Medium body, syrupy. Really nice, tad too sweet though.

Apr 20, 2007 Updated: Feb 26, 2008750 ml bottle. Sweet, sweet smell like a berry juicebox. Soft red pour that lies very still and saucy. First taste impression is slightly dry and a bit winey. But with each sip, it becomes more sweet and fruity. Those 20% wild berries don’t seem to have been part of fermentation. Gets kind of cloying toward the end. Nice, sweet dessert wine, but not one for sipping with the guys. Had to follow this up with some Hopslam and a Goose IIPA.

Pours a deep garnet color... a still beverage so there is no head nor effervescence yet noticable viscosity as foretold by sticky legs. Big berry nose with a dose of alcohol and mild vinegar notes. Sour berry flavor with an acidic finish... smooth, thick and sticky in the mouth. Not bad, but it comes off as a cheap, flavored wine with hefty alcohol content. There’s no need for fruit flavors in a mead if it’s made properly.
