Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

From a bottle at the Open Water Grill in Avon NC. Pours a clear purple with a blue white head. Vegetal aroma. Sweet flavor of blueberry pancake syrup. Ugh.

This stuff pours and looks like cough syrup. After that start I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, but it was a low bar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: wow it pours purple! The head is about two inches and a pink color, the head is dense Aroma: blueberry, sweet Taste: taste like blueberry cough syrup, extremely syrupy with no characteristics of beer Palette: leaves a bad aftertaste Overall: had to pour this beer out, it was like drinking snowball syrup ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013-08-23. Dark purple body with a small pink head. 3++ Aroma of sweet blueberries, and blueberry concentrate. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet juicy blueberry. Smooth average plus bodied palate, very little carbonation. 8% abv?!?!? Wow. Almost no alcohol presence. Starts nice but finishes a bit strange. Not at all beer like but not unpleasant. Bottle shared by Radek.

it tasted like juice and nothing like beer. But the 8% alcohol is pretty nice. Won’t buy it again.

Bottle [12oz] shared with jercraigs, mabel & Radek -- c/o Radek. Pours a nice looking deep ruby-pink with a small bubbly pink head. Aroma of blueberries, sweet and tart. Slightly watery flavour of blueberries, again sweet and tart. The alcohol is surprisingly totally hidden. Average bodied. Just O.K., more like an alcopop.

Pours purple-red with thin head and modest bubbles. Lots of blueberry aroma as you might expect with some tartness and malt notes. Tastes like fizzy kool-aid with a little spice. Too sweet.

True blueberry flavor. Sweet and string. Best blueberry beer I've had. Enough said. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From the bottle, pours a translucent purple with a thick foamy head that quickly disappears. Smells like berries and cheap beer, causing a bit of confusion as I read the current ranking. Taste clears things up a bit. Like grape koolaid mixed with mountain blast Gatorade with none of the hydrating properties. Can’t decide whether this is a crappy beer wearing a slutty nurse costume on Halloween, or a 9 with her shields up at a bachelorette party. Either way, at 8%, it’ll get your goggles on.
