COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

12oz bottle, Pours a dark red-purple color with a big pink head. Aromas begin with artificial blueberry juice/syrup. The tastes begin with sweetness and blueberries (perhaps like blueberry syrup, extra syrup). The 8%abv. does come through. Light bodied with above co2. Finish is sweet and cloying. Difficult to finish, close to a drain pour.

Pours a Reddish-Purple in color with a thin fingertip sized Purple head. Little to no lacing on glass. Smell is mostly of Blueberry, Fruit, and Sugar. Smell is very sugary, and smells alot like Candy and Syrup. Has light fizzy carbonation that lasts to almost last sip. Taste is of Blueberry, and VERY SWEET and sugary. The Blueberry is not real strong or overpowering, but this beer is really very sweet, and almost tastes like a sugary fruit drink with fizzy carbonation. It almost tastes like someone melted down a Blueberry pancake into liquid, and now you are drinking it! Good if you want something really sweet, but I don’t know if I would drink more than 1 or 2 at a time, or drink it everyday on a daily basis. Will give it a slightly higher rating just because it is a "fruit beer", and tastes and smells like Blueberry fruit.

Bottle. Pours a rather scary looking purple body with a fizzy one finger fuzzy purple head that quickly vanished. The aroma smells more like a blueberry soda than beer. There’s really no hint of beer in there at all. The flavor is the same way, tastes like grape soda actually, not even blueberry really. If there are hops in here, I don’t know where the hell they are. How they get away with calling this beer I will never know. This tastes more like a wine cooler than the handful of those that I have had. Sweet, slightly sticky, fizzy body with a lingering candy finish. Yuck.

Please note that I’m rating this as a fruit beer and not anything else. I feel that I must state that due to the low ratings I saw that say it taste like more fruit than beer. In my humble opinion, it shouldn’t taste too much like a beer since it’s suppose to be fruity. With that being said, I’m really impressed that this is a "big boy" brew at 8%abv yet is VERY accessible. Big blueberry smell and taste with a slight hoppiness to it but very sweet. Excellent fruit beer.

It pours blue. It smells blue. It tastes blue. If only there was a little more "Wild" here. Much more wine cooler than beer. Not good.

Smells like grape juice, looks like grape juice, it even tastes like grape juice. This is a beer for people who hate beer.

Strong "soda" taste with a sugary blueberry taste throughout. Very sweet. High alcohol content, but not worth it. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle. Pours purple with a light purple head. Actual small pieces of blueberry floating around. Tastes of sweet/sour blueberries. Not terrible for something different.

Pours a purple color with aroma of strictly blueberry flavoring. Taste is heavy on the blueberry mixed with malt. Overall a good fruit beer that was interesting but not something I’d buy again.
