Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Bottle. Purple with small light purple head. Strong aroma of blueberries. Light body with a medicinal blueberry flavor upfront and a sweet finish. Overly sweet and juice like.

Where and how: bottle 355 ml @ tasting
Aroma medium intense, not too sweet, fruity blueberry notes. Alcohol very muted for 8% brew.
Top: medium lighter pink cap.
Base: clear, ruby.
Palate : soft, smooth with lighter carbonation. Medium bodied.
Taste: surprised to see how this brew is so easy going. It is 8% right? Alco-pop like but done well. Fruity sweetness is main theme

bottle. Blue with small head. Boozy blueberries in a syrupy mess. As an avenue to getting drunk, this is probably effective. However, it’s not beer. It’s better than Mad dog.

12 fl oz bottle. 13197BC05. (Anheuser-Busch Brewery Gift Shop) St Louis, MO.
Dark purple colour with a small pink head. Blueberry and some sweetness in the aroma. The flavour is... sweetness and unpleasantness. Yuck! Very bad flavour. Some alcohol there to crown the experience.

From a bottle at the Open Water Grill in Avon NC. Pours a clear purple with a blue white head. Vegetal aroma. Sweet flavor of blueberry pancake syrup. Ugh.

This stuff pours and looks like cough syrup. After that start I was pleasantly surprised with the taste, but it was a low bar. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Appearance: wow it pours purple! The head is about two inches and a pink color, the head is dense Aroma: blueberry, sweet Taste: taste like blueberry cough syrup, extremely syrupy with no characteristics of beer Palette: leaves a bad aftertaste Overall: had to pour this beer out, it was like drinking snowball syrup ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2013-08-23. Dark purple body with a small pink head. 3++ Aroma of sweet blueberries, and blueberry concentrate. 6+ Flavour is similar, sweet juicy blueberry. Smooth average plus bodied palate, very little carbonation. 8% abv?!?!? Wow. Almost no alcohol presence. Starts nice but finishes a bit strange. Not at all beer like but not unpleasant. it tasted like juice and nothing like beer. But the 8% alcohol is pretty nice. Won’t buy it again.
