Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

UPDATED: JUN 29, 2013 Inbev makes this? Dang it. Well, very good beer. Fun red/purple color. The blueberry flavor is very present without turning me off. Not sugary, considering the high gravity of 8%. Very good beer!

Don’t let the low marks fool you. This is a tasty lager. If you like traditional lager stay away. What part of Blueberry don’t you understand? This a a tasty summer cooler. Can’t even taste any alcohol whatsoever.

Surprised I liked this so much, not much expectation going in. Deep red wine color, very sweet & even at 8% the alcohol taste wasn’t very apparent. Wouldn’t buy a 6-pack but one will work if available.

Bottle. This beer was awful. Tasted like someone took blueberry juice and poured the cheapest beer they could find in it. Deep bluish purple color, with a purple head. Aroma was the most pleasant part of it. Smelled like blueberry jam on toast. Had to pour it out. Just way too sweet.

Worth one shot thats for sure. Does get artifical tasting but a very finishable beer. One is enough though.

smells ever so slightly of cough syrup...but pours a beautiful dark blood red...awesome!! Taste is a bit disappointing....artificial blueberry tasting....like a hint of cough syrup again...medium sweet...light flavor of blueberry..not too bad...just couldn’t drink more than one probably

Nice purple color, smooth going down with a nice blueberry taste not too overwhelming.

Bottle into glass after St. Louis brewery tour. Pours a blue-purple color with a pink head. Aroma is blueberry syrup sweetness. Taste is also the blueberry sweetness, very little else. Light body, heavy carbonation, syrupy, sweet with fruity aftertaste (and blue tongue). Not really a fan of fruit beers, this isn’t helping. Too sweet for me. At least it hid the 8% alcohol well.

Bottle. Pours a clear maroon with pink head, settles quickly with some thin lacing. Aroma is fruity, blueberry, sugary, sweet, syrupy, cloying. Flavor is fruity, sweet, syrupy, blueberry, juicy, grape soda, slight cough syrup. Alcohol is mildly detectable in finish, especially as it warms. Flavor is way over the top, too sweet, too fruity, comes across as artificial. One dimensional as fruit beers tend to be. Alcohol and blueberry flavor should be toned back, no reason for an 8% fruit beer. Moderate carbonation, medium body and juicy texture. An overly fruity brew.

Bottle. Pours a blue-purple color with purplish head. Blueberry, jam, fizzy soda aromas. Sweet, blueberry juice, fruit drink flavors. I can’t believe it’s 8%. You could get really wasted on these.
