Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Pleasant blueberry taste. Pours deep purple with small lavender head. Not as strong as the ABV would suggest. No bite. Very sweet. I would drink this again.

When poured it looks like a deep purple wine with a sweet smell of fruits. Tastes of almost a purple pez with zero bitterness. Great beer if your only going to have one or two

There is just to much of a juice since to this beer. I would also like a little more carbonation.

Bottle. Smells strongly of blueberry, and the taste follows. Looks like grape juice in the glass. Head is mostly carbonation, a reddish purple that fades quickly. It starts off with a basic lager flavor, which is quickly washed over with blueberry. I understand all the reasons beer snobs look down at this, but I enjoy it. It’s not a complex porter or IPA, but it has its place.

The low ratings don’t surprise me as this is a maligned style of beer on this site, but this is a very tasty drink. Has a dark purple color with a pinkish head, reminiscent of a blueberry. Smell and taste is sweet blueberry fruit. No hint of alcohol. Smooth and deceptively strong. Delicious.

A purple color. Almost like carbonated blueberry juice. Very delicious and not overly sweet.

Pours a strange purple color. Way too sweet. Hides alcohol well, Tastes like a fruity wine more than a beer. Drinkable, but not my type for sure.

No head. Color of grape crush. Tasted exactly like carbonated wine. I despise wine. Hated it 500%

Smells like cheap convenience store blueberry muffins or blueberry gum. Pours a really unnatural purplish red color. Initially sweet on the tongue then finishes with an artificial weird tang that won’t leave your palate. Disgusting.

UPDATED: MAY 10, 2014 This beer is unrefined and just not very tasty. It has a weird-looking body and the aroma is like that of a bad, cheap wine. Blueberry flavors are overbearing and tart. In the end, this is a shitty lager that has been dressed up to look like a fruity bitch beer. If you’re offended by that statement, I’ll pretend to be referring to the (hopefully female) dog on the label. However, the 8% ABV probably has great appeal for frat boy types.
