Oh dear god... Dark red color with no head. Pretty decent aroma of blueberries. The taste goes straight to hell. Rotten and soured grains, coupled with an offensive, blueberry extract syrup taste. Gross.

Clumsy and butterfingered customer dropped a six-pack at Cellar’s Wine & Spirits in St Paul, MN. Two broken bottles, three for the single bottle rack, and one for the employees to try. Pours a clear raspberry juice brew with a thin pink head that quickly dissipates to a fine film and thin pink ring. Aroma of light berries, some allspice, and a touch of Wonder white bread dough. Taste is like drinking Diet Budweiser with a splash of my nephew’s glass of raspberry Kool-aid. Finish is like a flat, no-carbonated berry soda with a bread stick. I am surprised that the AB guys want to compete against Leinie’s Berry Weiss. Oh well, business as usual.
2.3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 nick76 (4077) - Tampa, Florida, USA - MAR 5, 2008
The aroma hints at blueberry and a general fruitiness but it’s weak and dominated by a cheap lager smell without being gross. The appearance is purplish-blue with a matching head. The flavor does taste like blueberries and not much else. The palate is thin. Overall it’s sort-of tasty but still simplistic and built on a second rate lager.

Not sure what I expected, but certainly not the purple goo I have in my glass. I still get the corn and rice in the AB, and I hate that freaking taste. The fruit end of things isn’t that bad, and it is worth a buzz. Not a good beverage....

12oz bottle. Surprisingly attractive dark, ruby, pink, with violet accents pour. Decent sized pinkish white head leaving light spotty lacing. Thats where this beer ends at being good. Jolly Rancher like candy sweetness on the nose. I mean, holy crap it’s sweet. Blueberry syrup for sure. Light bready malt and artificial candy blueberry sweetness on the tongue. 8%? Yeah right. The new Zima perhaps?

Bottle: Deep reddish purple color, light head and lacing. Nose of really sweet fake snapple like fruitiness. The flavor is sweet and syruppy. Fairly juicy and thick, but no malt or hops to taste. Like fruit juice made from concentrate and not enough water.

It pours a purple/blue color with a light purple head. Not really what I was expecting from a beer. I have had man blueberry beers before I can’t remember any that were actually blue in color. It smells like blueberries and has a bit of a sweet aroma as well. I have to say that this doesn’t taste like beer. It is more like a sweet juice with a bad aftertaste. Though it says it is flavored and colored with fruit juice it tastes pretty artificial. If you are looking for a beer I wouldn’t recommend this. If you are looking for a low quality, sweet, fruity drink this might be okay.

So I come in to work today and see this stuff sitting on the shelf. I don’t know why, but something about the label told me that this was some AB stuff. Sure enough, when the sales guy came in I asked about it and he said it was one of his products. He claimed that it was something they distributed but wasn’t actually AB. HA! Anyway, this one pours a blue/purple shade with a pink head. An overwhelming stench of artificially flavored blueberry pie hits my nostrils. The flavor is overly sweet and artificial tasting. Like a true malternative alcopop thing. This is just awful.

2008 Bottle - Thank God noboby fucking saw me drinking this. I was hoping for a nice lambic, not a flourescent fruit punch. Little did I know that this was another piss poor beer from AB but not labled as such. Might have been more tolerable had my expectations not been opposite from what I got, and I bought 4 bottles. Hopefully by the time I crack the next one in 2020, it will have turned into some alcoholic slurry . The one positive I feel obligated to mention is that the 8% was completely hidden by the obnoxious fruit.

Dark red color with a purple pink full head. Mainly berry aroma with a hint of malt. Medium body and medium carbonation. Overwhelming berry flavor. At least it tastes like real fruit and not totally artificial. Super sweet with a small bit of tartness. Hard to call it a beer, more like a soda. Sticky finish that confines you to drink only one of these, if that.
