COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Picked up after a tour of the St. Louis brewery. Not as good as the red or black. More like blueberry wine, not beer. Tried it, won’t drink it again.

Bottle 355ml. Pours deep purple with low-medium purplish/pink head. Aroma is of lots of blueberries. Taste is of lots of blueberries, alcohol, berries, sugar. Palate: Medium-full bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: Lots of blueberries in there. But kind of high abv. Overdone. Feels a bit artificial.

Rated based on notes taken 16 Aug 2012 -- I used to think this beer was awesome. But now I can differentiate the flavors and recognize that it’s not very good. Just a strong cheap malt bill with a heaping of artificial blueberry flavoring. Meh.

12oz bottle. Pours a clear, deep ruby/garnet with a thin, ruby/pink head. Like red wine with a head. Aroma has big, slightly sweet notes if Blueberry and not much else. Taste is balanced with lots of creamy blueberry, slight grain sweetness, and a drawn put blueberry flavouring ending. Tasted slightly artificial but tasty enough. Medium body and carbonation. Medium syrup texture in the mouth. Overall lots of Blueberry flavours, slight artificial Blueberry, and not a lot else. Tasty enough.

This beer is too sweet for me but there isn’t really anything bad about it if you want a sweet beer. Poured purple with a reddish purple head, thick sweet palate, strong berry flavour and not much beery flavour :

After I first tried this, I called it "Juice beer". I thought it would be a blueberry wheat, but was greatly mistaken. Reminded me more of a wine cooler. But a heavier wine cooler, not like Bartlys and James. Instead of being brewed with blueberries, I think there was just juice added. I bought a six-pack and gave one away to my friend who hadn’t tried it yet. Then after trying a 2nd one after that, I was kinda embarrassed that I gave it to him.

Poured from a 12OZ bottle into a red solo cup (classy) Aroma- This is a blueberry brew, very strong aroma. Appearance- uhhmm, purple, very purple with no head Taste- I was pretty floored by the flavor, very enjoyable. Has a pretty high alcohol content that is hidden in the berry flavor. Palate- A medium bodied brew with heavy carbonation and a real crisp feel. Overall- I enjoyed this beer and I had several sitting by the pool. I recommend this for a summer outing.

Bottle at home. Pours purple with a foamy purple head. Aroma is sweet blueberries. Flavor is sweet blueberries with some hop bitterness. This is more like blueberry juice with hops than any kind of beer with blueberries. Yuck ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
