Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blueís defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blueís dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lagerís striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Very nice blue color pouring into the glass, with only a slight head and some foam. It looks like blueberry juice from a can, and smells like it too. The initial taste is sweet, definitely not a fake blueberry taste as some have said, though there isnít a whole lot more to it. It finishes clean, sweet, and warms all the way down. My wife thought it was too sweet, but I liked it. Itís one of the best non-lambics Iíve tried, and one I may very well buy again. I wonít drink a lot of it at a time, though, just because it is so fruity.

[5731-20130823] 12floz bottle. Red Twizzlers and blueberry juice aroma. Clear, bright red body with a quick foamy light pink head. Blueberry juicy flavour. Medium body is only mildly boozy. A fruity cooler. (7/3/6/3/12) 3.1

Maroon color with an unbeer like purple head. Nose of booberry cereal. Too sweet, with white sugar and artificial blueberry syrup flavors. Makes my teeth hurt.

This is about the only "fruit beer" I would drink. Not a fan of blueberry, which may slightly make this beer rated worse than it should be, but it DOES have a great and decently complex taste. It is sweet, but not too sweet, and doesnít have much head to it.

its an acquired taste, its almost like a beer wine hybrid, with a definite blueberry taste. the high alcohol content is a plus.it would probably be best when paired with food.

Reviewed from notes. This was once poured into a pint glass and once poured into a pilsener. There wasnít any difference. The appearance was a hazy yet also somewhat clear orange/Red color with a bubbly white head that quickly died. There wasnít any lacing whatsoever. The smell had a weird blueberry that somewhat sweet but at other times sour. It never seemed to be combined. The taste was interesting as it took the blueberry and gave it a somewhat thick graininess to it. On the palate, this one sat about a light on the body with a somewhat decent sessionability about it. The carbonation was fairly subdued. Thereís a tart blueberry finish. Overall, hmmmm...Iím not exactly sure what to say other than it kinda fits the style but Iím unsure if that smell was intentional.

Pours a dark blue. Aroma is faint but has hints of malt, blueberry, and alcohol. Taste is similiar with a hefty alcohol and sickly sweet aftertaste. Not a refreshing beer...

It really is what it is, and a really good example in fruit beer. Doesn't taste like 8 %

Fantastic fruity beer with a great refreshing taste. The aroma tops it off of blueberry and hops.
