COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Rate Winecooler.com? Super sweet, syrupy (could pour this on my waffles) blueberry Hi-C beer. Kind of malty finish. Juicy Juice + ABV.

If you want blueberry soda, buy this. It is way too sweet and should not be considered a beer. Never ever buy again.

12oz bottle. Dark ruby-red/purple color, weird pink head. Almost totally opaque, definitely interesting looking. Really awful medicinally bitter taste is what strikes me first. Aroma is like a raisin-flavored jolly rancher that’s been saturating in your mouth for far too long, it is sickly sweet. Sharp carbonation, with a really syrupy texture in the aftertaste. Really awful beer, probably the worst I have ever had... But even still, I refrain from giving it a 0.5, because I guess it could be worse (if they really tried hard enough). Poured in a snifter. I could only finish half, the rest went down the drain.

Aroma: Hints of berry, certainly, but with a bit too much alcohol and yeasty aromas. Appearance: Dark purple with a lavender head. Taste: Medium to heavy sweetness with hints of bitterness throughout. Tastes more like grape juice than beer. Palate: Medium body, oily texture, soft carbonation, sweet, cloying finish. Overall: Well, it sure looked pretty when I poured it. Just a pretty meager attempt at a fruit beer, with too much fruit and not enough balance. It’s drinkable, but just barely.

Strong fruity aroma, very pleasant if you enjoy the smell of grape/blueberries. Appearance is dark purple, aside from the white/cream lace it looks like a grape soda. Taste is sweet, fruity, some citrus and alcohol. There are better fruit beers and better blueberry beers at that, too sweet, tastes almost artificial.

12 oz bottle pours a dark purplish red with a small pink head and a little lacing. Smells like alcoholic grape soda. Aroma is the same, with fermenting blueberries added. Taste is more like a hard cider than beer. Finish is drier than the sweet grape soda taste. Alcohol is noticeable, which I guess is the point. (This is probably rated more highly by teenage girls than the usual lot of reviewers here). It might make a good dessert beverage with a meal. I wouldn’t have tried this if the bottle said it was from Anheuser Busch. It says Blue Dawg Brewing, Baldwinsville, NY. Bizzarre as far as beer goes, sick as far as alcohol marketing goes, but I don’t regret trying it for something different.

I LOVE this beer! It is the best. It’s hard to drink any other beer after having had this.
