Commercial Description:
Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Wow, what a nasty beer experience in a bottle. Picked up a single from the local store as I was curious, brewed in "New York" by a brewery I’ve never heard of so I thought I’d give it a go. Offensive aroma of medicinal berries and vegetables. Smells like a ghetto bum wine mixed with cough syrup. Interesting red/purple color with a light pink head and some decent lacing. Beer should probably not be this color. Fizzy mouth feel, drinks mildly with an empty sweetness. Flavor...ugh, well it really tastes like medicine. A brutal syrupy mess in a bottle. It is essentially a mixture of Mad Dog 20/20 and Nyquill. Pass right by this one if you know what’s good for you......so I see it’s actually brewed by AB, makes sense.

Bottle. Pours a very blue color. Aroma of blueberry, light grain. Taste is similar and seemed a little bit like a wine cooler. Finish is smooth. Body is light. At 8%, this fruit juice beer is probably not made for beer folks.

Wild Blue is a clear, very sparkling, magenta beer with a small, dense amethyst head. The aroma is sweet with notes of grape peel, cider, blueberry and cork. It has a medium body, papery, syrupy and a little flat. It’s reasonably smooth, but the finish is rumbly. It tastes cidery and very sweet. There are notes of blueberry, concord grape and cranberry. It’s pretty rough and grumbly under the sweetness. My brother told me it’s something for perverts to give to young girls on the beach. I’d take this over a Bud any time.

Pale red/purple color with a pink head. Smell is very sweet. Taste hides the alcohol (8%) well, but the sweetness overpowers the other flavors. Not terrible, but not extraordinary either.

Poured a purplish blue color with a pinkish head. Aroma was of blueberry pancake syrup. Flavor was much the same, very sweet and syrupy and hard to drink a lot of.
