Pours bluish-red, with a weird bluish head. Lots of blueberry on the nose, with sugary sweetness. Flavor is very sweet with blueberry, way too easy to drink, and too sweet. Finishes sweet, with blueberry, alcohol is well hidden.

Nice purple color, smooth going down with a nice blueberry taste not too overwhelming.
2.3 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20 radio_nowhere (418) - Maryland, USA - MAY 18, 2013
Bottle into glass after St. Louis brewery tour. Pours a blue-purple color with a pink head. Aroma is blueberry syrup sweetness. Taste is also the blueberry sweetness, very little else. Light body, heavy carbonation, syrupy, sweet with fruity aftertaste (and blue tongue). Not really a fan of fruit beers, this isn’t helping. Too sweet for me. At least it hid the 8% alcohol well.
2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Brouwerij (414) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - MAY 17, 2013
Bottle. Pours a clear maroon with pink head, settles quickly with some thin lacing. Aroma is fruity, blueberry, sugary, sweet, syrupy, cloying. Flavor is fruity, sweet, syrupy, blueberry, juicy, grape soda, slight cough syrup. Alcohol is mildly detectable in finish, especially as it warms. Flavor is way over the top, too sweet, too fruity, comes across as artificial. One dimensional as fruit beers tend to be. Alcohol and blueberry flavor should be toned back, no reason for an 8% fruit beer. Moderate carbonation, medium body and juicy texture. An overly fruity brew.
2.1 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 7/20 jcnielsen (842) - Kansas City, Missouri, USA - MAY 14, 2013
Bottle. Pours a blue-purple color with purplish head. Blueberry, jam, fizzy soda aromas. Sweet, blueberry juice, fruit drink flavors. I can’t believe it’s 8%. You could get really wasted on these.

2.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20 johnnyoski (359) - Macomb, Michigan, USA - APR 20, 2013
Bottle. Pours a dark red-purple with no head. Aroma is all blueberry. Flavor is just about 100% carbonated, sweet blueberry juice with a slight bitter finish. The taste is natural but it drowns out any attributes of a beer. Drinkable, and with the high alcohol content well hidden it will go right to your head. Only recommended for fans of strong fruity beers or wines.
3.5 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 WortMan (15) - - APR 7, 2013
The best fruit beer that i have personally had from a bottle. Nice blueberry aroma with an almost red color? Excellenthst berry taste, but a litttle too sweet for my taste. I still feel that is a good beer. My wife likes to mix it half and half with a stout to make a black and blue that is really, really good!

Wild Blue smells like blueberries and tastes like blueberries. It is 8% alcohol. I enjoyed drinking Wild Blue. It is probably one of my favorite beers. It is fantastic in the spring/summer/fall. All around is a great choice!

Maybe its just my inexperience but fruit & beer never seem to compliment each other. This was leaps and bounds above some of the other fruit beers ive tried (namely sam adams cherry wheat) but still undrinkable. The initial taste isnt bad and reminded me of blueberry pancakes but that sensation gets old quick and turns sickingly sweet & syrupy.
