Commercial Description:
Not suited for timid or reserved beer drinkers, Wild Blue’s defining taste characteristic is its kick of natural blueberry flavor. The Blue Dawg Brewing team carefully selected a blend of hops and barley malt to ensure they complemented and balanced Wild Blue’s dominant blueberry notes, resulting in a robust and aromatic beer with a refreshing, palate-cleansing finish. Wild Blue is brewed with a blend of German hops from the Hallertau region in Bavaria and classic Aroma hops from the Willamette Valley in the Pacific Northwest. A combination of two- and six-row barley malt also was chosen specifically for this recipe. Beer lovers will appreciate this specialty fruit-infused lager’s striking burgundy color, ripe blueberry aroma and its ability to stand up to the strongest of foods.

Poured from bottle 4/2008. My bottle sez BlueDawg brewery, but looks like another A/B trick. Aroma is def wild blueberry. Looks ridiculous - kinda like Snapple Grape drink with a light purple head. Flavor?? This is a ’malt beverage’. They amped up the alcohol, so the pre 21 crowd will love this stuff. Drink it if you aren’t in the mood for beer.

Dastardly disguising this one as a craft. This is girlfriend beer. Tastes like blueberry kool aid, alcohol is very well masked, but also is very sweet and full of fruit, but does not taste that artificial either which gives it points. I could not drink more than a sample of it that is.

very good with food,One who doesn’t drink fruit flavored beer shouldn’t even bother.as most are very closed minded. This beer hit’s on all cylinders, and has a good kick at the end with a 8% ALC. I always recommend these type beer with desserts.

Bottle. reddish purple color with a thin light purple head. Smells like artifical blueberry but not unpleasant. Sweet blueberry flavor... and... that’s it. Nothing sneeks up on you, from start to finish it is just blueberry. I know there are lots of points that could be argued about this "beer", but it is not a bad drink. A

(Sample with Beer Club Members (unofficial tasting) on July 31, 2008) Raspberry color… clear and lightly carbonated. No head. Aroma is juice-like, like a wine cooler. Taste is super sweet, obviously blueberry. Candy-like. This does not taste like beer. I’d like to argue the technical classification of this thing. And then... ON THE BOTTLE it says BOTH "Premium Lager" AND "Flavored Ale". Does AB not know the difference? Obviously not. Great chick beer. But I do have to say that you can’t tell it’s 8% ABV - which makes it an even greater chick beer.

It has the appearance of black cherry soda. I really did not sense a blueberry taste it just tasted really sweet.
