DSG (1501), Tel Aviv, Israel Nov 13, 2007 Bottle sample. Hazy amber with a white head. Floral hoppy nose with a bit of citrus, some malt and a bit of caramel. Flavor starts with some sweet malt and a bit of caramel, then turns to bitter hoppiness with slight hints of grapefruit. Medium-bodied. Quite enjoyable, but nothing great. docsteigs (139), USA Nov 12, 2007 Pours with nice orange amber color and nice eggshell head. Medium hop taste with minimal malt. Good clean finish. alexanderj (2213), Chino Hills, California, USA Nov 2, 2007 Bottle; pours a gold color with medium to large frothy white head. Aroma of biscuit, yeast with only a faint hop presence. Flavor had a fairly strong bitter finish. However, lacked complexity and good flavor. Really a poor offering; below average for the style. jason (1620), Easton, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 6, 2007 Bottle. Pours a murky cloudy pale orange body with thin head. Aroma is of heavy malt, light hops, gym shorts. Flavor has a very dominant malt profile with some citrus hops hanging in near the end. Mediocre. wickedpete (625), Lexington Park, Maryland, USA Sep 30, 2007 Clear golden with a frothy white head and clingy lacing. Citrus aroma with some biscuity maltiness. Powerful bitterness up front that quickly breaks to give way to a light malt flavor, but leaves a lingering hoppy dry aftertaste. Not terrible, but could use a little more sweetness to better balance. The malt is highly overpowered. Derek881 (486), Frederick, Maryland, USA Sep 24, 2007 Enjoyed a half pint of this beer on tap the brewery before the free tour. It had a hop-dominated aroma, with grainy and earthy notes, but maybe some caramel malt mixed in too. It was quite bitter, but the flavor was not as good as I had hoped. It had a dark amber color with a good-sized foamy white head. The beer was aggressive on the palate, with a good stickyness, and was very dry. IPA is admittedly not one of my favorite styles, but I expected more out of this beer. KrispyKirk (15), USA Sep 8, 2007 Plastic cup from a tap at Camden Yards. Another local delight that makes a great back-up IPA when I don’t have any Clipper City Loose Cannon Hop3 around. Subdued and easier drinking than all those other mega-IBU hop-bombs you hear hopheads raving about, and a good example of a solid East Coast IPA (meaning it’s sweeter, chewier, and maltier.) Those looking for a gateway craft beer have found it here. psuCE03 (122), York, Pennsylvania, USA Sep 7, 2007 Updated: Sep 14, 2007Crisp aroma with a pale amber color and nice frothy head. Good hop with some bite at the end. Overall a quality brew.
