Strykzone (1459), Wood River, Illinois, USA Sep 6, 2007 Clearly a hop based brew, as expected, but more balanced than most. A nice bitterness is slow to build and is a pine flavored one. This beer seems to lend a mellowing feel to things. Caramel is underneath the hops and there is an occasional apple flavor as well. Deserves better than a 47%. kp (8400), Woodstock, Georgia, USA Sep 1, 2007 Name: IPA

fakepurseninja (773), Washington, USA Aug 31, 2007 Different than most american IPAs - focused on a strong, mellow malt base rather than over-the-top hoppiness. The malt is smooth and slightly sweet and balanced well with a crisp hop and pine presence. Very quaffable and enjoyable - a drink for the those who want a little more kick to their pale ales. n49921 (108), USA Aug 29, 2007 From a bottle. A little bit of hops in the aroma, but a mild aroma. Amber appearance with a white head. A bit of hops, but not a heavy hops bite, with a bit of malt breaking through. Turns a bit bitter on the palate and lasts. Overall, solid but not as hopped as you would expect upfront from an IPA. HopBackDoc (393), Hatboro, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 27, 2007 Light amber in color with thin head. Mild hop aroma. Flavor leaned more on the caramel malt than on the grassy hops. A decent brew, but not a great IPA. bbp182 (255), Levittown, Pennsylvania, USA Aug 26, 2007 It has a yellow color to it. Nothing like an IPA should look like. Based on looks alone, I think I won’t like it. Now on to the aroma. Great piny/floral hop smell. OH MY GOD!!!!! Great IPA taste. Floral/piny taste. Very nice. Not expecting a taste like this with a color like how it is. Not too shabby. obguthr (987), Poquoson, Virginia, USA Aug 26, 2007 Shockoe festival Richmond VA-Draft: Lemon peel aroma. Orange amber color, thick head. Light tasting, not bitter, grapefruit. bubbleflubber (885), Collinsville, Virginia, USA Aug 12, 2007 On tap at the Microfestivus ’07... Amber pour with a light eggshell-colored thick cap... great retention and soapy lace. The nose is very faint... weirdly, I pick up fruit and wheat? Odd. I think this misses the IPA mark by a mile. Citrusy flavors, but no substantial body whatsoever... malt contingency is underdone. Bitters miss any sort of pine, and take far too long to develop on the back-palate. The finish is long, but not well-integrated into the overall pull. It feels "tangy" with a thin mouthfeel. Seems out-of-balance and doesn’t appear to care. I think it should be reclassified... definitely not indicative of a good IPA.
