CelticBrew (676), The Crystal Coast, North Carolina, USA Nov 17, 2006 Poured out a medium dark gold forming a white foamy head.Aroma of the usual, hops, malts, somewhat citriusy. Taste of caramel, hops, a fairly smooth finish. To be honest, it sorta reminded me of a mild Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, but not as refined. Overall, not bad and very drinkable all things considered. Not in the realm of the high end IPA’s, but good enough for sessions without breaking the bank either. MD has some good quality breweries, this one is ok too. Wish it was up there with Clipper City. You should also know that the brewer of this beer is bankrupt and now is owned/managed by Flying Dog (another great beer maker) so I’m hoping for better things for this brew. garrison (455), Cin. city, Ohio, USA Nov 9, 2006 From a brown, twelve ounce bottle purchased over the Ohio River at"Liquor Direct" in Covington, Kentucky - This one pours an orange-amber brew with a light hoppy aroma and a fizzy, just ever so slightly off-white head. Tastewise, it’s a pretty simple IPA, a bit more malty than most but with nothing really stand-outish about it. It’s just a good beer. -------------------------------
By the way, isn’t this beer extinct? I thought the Frederick, Maryland brewery changed hands again after bankruptcy! drkilmer (35), Myersville, Maryland, USA Oct 18, 2006 Bottle poured a nice light orange color with an off-white, bubbly head that dissapated quickly. There was a bit of hoppiness in the nose, but less than expected. A bit maltier than I would expect from an IPA, but well ballanced with a clean finish. Overall a nice brew! gksailor (1), USA does not count Oct 12, 2006 Amber color. Foamy off white head. Very clean crisp taste....slightly bitter. Clean finish. Trooper11 (464), Suffolk, Virginia, USA Oct 10, 2006 Amber brew very carbonated. Small foamy tan head. Ahh, this aroma says IPA, albeit a mild IPA aroma. Hoppy. Medium bodied, very smooth, foamy feel, Hops flavor, creamy. Taste like it smells, a very mild IPA. Not the greatest but I would drink this over BMC any day. Ungstrup (14754), Frederiksberg, Denmark Oct 8, 2006 An orange beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes being light apricot. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of apricot, leading to a bitter end. An OK beer - but I find it more spiced than IPA-like. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 3, 2006 Bottle sampled from a card game with Stegosaurus. Pours amber/gold with a white head. Aroma of hops and fruit. The flavor is mildly bitter, citrus, and fruit. Good beer. BückDich (4785), McCall, Idaho, USA Oct 2, 2006 Bottle drank at the RFD with Ungstrup
Golden color, light head and light lacing. Nose of light hops, grassy, a bit of malt. Fairly bland, not enough hops. Finishes bland.
