DEbeer (192), West Virginia, USA Sep 9, 2004 Love this beer. The flavor is strong but smooth. The finish is crisp. The color is even tasty. This is a fantastic beer, and i would never hesitate to drink it again. jasonp (1504), Sterling/Dulles, Virginia, USA Sep 2, 2004 Pours a golden yellow with no head at all. Aroma is slightly hoppy and citrusy. Taste is of light citrus/grapefruit with a light floral hop character. Pretty sweet. Lightish medium body. Mouthfeel is weak and thin. Unsatisfying and dull. Needs more malt, body, hops and overall flavor. BBB63 (4198), La Porte, Indiana, USA Aug 22, 2004 Bottle: Clear golden hue with small fizzy head but some good lace. The aroma has notes of buttery malts, aromatic and floral hops, some citrus, and hayfield. The taste is subdued bitterness with a strong malt backbone. Some citric twang is found midsection with a chalky and bitter finish. The feel is slightly crisp and reserved. Okay beer that is more akin to a APA than an IPA. Thanks Doclock for the bottle. Eyedrinkale (3209), Astoria, New York, USA Aug 17, 2004 A bit maltier than my preference but tonight it works just fine for me. I just question whether this stuff may be a few months old. Regardless, very drinkable but a bit sweet. Thanks Oak (ninjaworm) for this one. sloth (1657), Ceciltucky, Co., Maryland, USA Jul 5, 2004 An IPA ? It,s not even a decent Pale Ale. Tiny white head with a little lace. Hazy gold color. Hints of citrus, lemon in the very faint nose. Light body, spritzy. Touch of citrus flavors. Thin, dry finish, bland with the slightest of hop bites., ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ. wilkie (1189), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA Jul 2, 2004 Bottle. Copper colored, semihazy (with floaties), and small but retentive white head. Aroma is hoppy, with odors of straw and malt. Very hoppy flavor, but mixed well. has a strange aftertaste though. Generally pretty good, could be a little more malty for my tastes. Quetzalcoatl (153), Baltimore, Maryland, USA Jun 29, 2004 12oz Bottle. Pours a fair head, white with nice lacing. The aroma is quite hoppy, and the first sips are the same. Not over the top hops, but sufficient. Has a satisfying fullness, not watery or overly rich either, mild carbonation. The finish is pleasantly bitter. A nice regular IPA all around. roder60 (1019), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 19, 2004 Good citrusy hoppy aroma which made me want to take a big gulp right away. Upon tasting, the first thing that hits you is a strong hop flavor. Finish is also very very bitter and lingers for a while. Not the best balance of hops and malts in an IPA, but not a bad beer either.
