An orange beer with a lazing white head. The aroma is sweet with primary notes being light apricot. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of apricot, leading to a bitter end. An OK beer - but I find it more spiced than IPA-like.

Bottle. Hazy golden color with a small white head. Sweet aroma of malt and hops. Flavor was very malty and sweet with very little hop presence. Would never have guessed this was an IPA.

Almost golden color, tastes of malt up front hops in the back. A very good session beer. Seems to be fairly close to an English IPA in that it is balanced and not very aggressive and you can taste the malt.

Bottle. Aroma toast malt light hops. Hazy off yellow. This was really odd because I expected an IPA and got an amber like flavor from it. Very malty and only a shade of hops in the finish. This was in a variety pack and really made me wonder if they didn’t mess up the labels.

Bottle; pours a gold color with medium to large frothy white head. Aroma of biscuit, yeast with only a faint hop presence. Flavor had a fairly strong bitter finish. However, lacked complexity and good flavor. Really a poor offering; below average for the style.

Poured out a medium dark gold forming a white foamy head.Aroma of the usual, hops, malts, somewhat citriusy. Taste of caramel, hops, a fairly smooth finish. To be honest, it sorta reminded me of a mild Dogfish Head 90 Minute IPA, but not as refined. Overall, not bad and very drinkable all things considered. Not in the realm of the high end IPA’s, but good enough for sessions without breaking the bank either. MD has some good quality breweries, this one is ok too. Wish it was up there with Clipper City. You should also know that the brewer of this beer is bankrupt and now is owned/managed by Flying Dog (another great beer maker) so I’m hoping for better things for this brew.

A really weak IPA. Had more of an amber ale kind of malt taste than the typical bitterness of an IPA. As an amber, this wouldn’t be too bad. For the IPA style this is not good at all. Lightly sweet and malty, but slightly watery. Not offensive tasting, just not good. Tasted like the IPAs that I had in England - very different than american IPAs.

Low carbonation. Slightly filtered. Viscusy mouth feel. Kind of one dimentional with taste of honey up front, and ending with a hops finish. Aroma smells like the bottle cap and stale beer. Gold Medal Winner? Kind of tasted like the high life of IPA’s to me.
