On tap at Beer Temple. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of roasted malts and good coffee. Flavour is roasted malts, light sweet, light chocolate, coffee, but all very subdued. Medium bodied, soft and smooth mouthfeel. Easy drinking stout, not shocking, but just nice and decent stuff.

20091217 12oz bottle thanks to my pal Tom. Dark cola brown with small, fleeting tan head. Aroma is sweet and malty with toasty bread, a bit of light vegetal, coffee, and wet leaves. Light, rather thin body would be more pleasing if the carbonation was a bit less aggressive. Flavorful for a light brew, plenty roasty, quite sweet, some lingering citrus acidity, mild licorice and vanilla.

Less than mediocre stout that tastes sugary and thin. Light body, very light body, and the roast complex is just lots of roasted malts. No dry qualities to it make it a watery lighter stout. Probably wouldnít get again.

Bottle sent to me in a trade by ben4321. Thanks, Ben! At the time, I hadnít rated any Maryland beers, but since then Iíve racked up quite a few. Aroma is roast, anise, and dark fruits. Flavor is pleasant but not great, with roast, anise, and dark fruits, especially grape and raisin, both sweet and mildly tart, along with some slight hops. Alcohol is a little more noticeable than it should be for a 6-percenter. Medium body with slight astringency on the palate. This is pretty average for a stout, enjoyable but nothing that blew me away.

Sweet nose, cola, nuts, chocolate. Dark brown, tan head. Palate is tangy, sweet, not real oily like I prefer in a sweet stout. A bit gritty, hoppy, maybe a tad out of balance, still pretty decent.
