FatTony (102), Augusta, Georgia, USA May 5, 2008 12 ounce bottle- pours out a slightly transparent chestnut brown with a weak tan head. The aroma is chocolate and toasted malt. Taste is a surprisingly strong chocolate with a bitter coffee finish. A little weak on the palate for a stout, almost but not quite watered down. Enjoyable, above average.
RCL (997), Boston, Massachusetts, USA Aug 7, 2008 Slightly metallic hazelnut caramel aroma. The flavor echoes the aroma pretty closely. A bit thin, but not bad. blipp (627), Grand Island, New York, USA Aug 3, 2008 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a fizzy tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, toast, and caramel. Medium body. Flavor is similar to the aroma, but with a bit more coffee present. A very average stout. smjohnst (106), , Pennsylvania, USA Aug 1, 2008 It had a good stout flavor but not even a slight hint of oatmeal flavor. Has a good dark color and good body but just doesn’t REALLY impress. lithy (107), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Jul 22, 2008 A nearly black stout with hints of red in the light and a small finger of tan head with a nice lacing. Lovely nose with that typical oatmeal stout sweetness and some plums and warm dark fruit. Nice and creamy on the tongue, the taste is plums and chocolate along with the smooth oatmeal finish. A nice solid oatmeal stout. nick76 (2001), Tampa, Florida, USA Jul 17, 2008 The aroma is really nice with chocolate, coffee, toasted malt, and a hint of hops. The appearance is dark brown with a thin head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is average. Overall a nice beer.
