COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Appearing almost black at first glance, Wild Goose Porter is actually a deep ruby-red ale. Roasted malt flavors accent its velvety finish.

Stouts and porters. Gotta love them. This poured dark brown with ruby hints and a tan, foamy head. Nose was caramel, coffee, chocolate, vanilla symphony. The flavor was rich and bold and satisfying.

12 oz. brown bottle. No freshness date seen, although there is a space for one on the label. Poured out a deep ruby brown, just like the label says, but it looks brown to me also. Not much head, it did leave a decent lacing along the top of the beer itself. Aromas are mostly of sweet grains, some slight nutty aromas as well. Some roastiness also, but not pronounced. A bit of caramel in the flavor balanced by the hops. Smooth mouthfeel, creamy consistency to it. Finished slightly dry, but tasty all the same.

The smell somewhat reminds me of a port wine, unusual, but nice. The followthrough on the flavor is quite good, plain and simple, but its a good porter.

From 2000 Notes - Opaque brown/ruby. Tan head. Roasted malt aroma. Chocolate flavcr balanced with some hop bitterness. Not too bad at all.

A peppery spiciness in the aroma. Looks great although a rather small head with modest lacing. Taste is not quite robust but very satisfying. There is a good toasted malt and bittersweet chocolate flavor, with a medium- bodied mouthfeel. Crisp, slightly bitter finish.

Has a strong roasted malt aroma. The taste is lacking up front, but makes up for it in the back. A very good porter for the price.

This beer pours with a very nice head, and looks very inviting. The head lingers through drinking the entire glass. The aroma is of dark chocolate, and malt sweetness. However, the taste leaves much to be desired. Espresso is the most evident flavour, with a hint of cocoa, with no perceptible sweetness. It feels very thin on the mouth, rather like an ale would. A slight hop bitterness helps the finish, but this porter does not compare to some I've had before. This is the second tasting of this beer for me, with similar results.

Dark reddish body, small tan head, sweet roasty nose with dark fruits. Tastes like prunes. Yes, prunes. I like it, though.
