3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 Cletus (6025) - Connecticut, USA - JAN 3, 2008
Bottle courtesy of Dorwart. Pours dark brown with a thin tan head. Smells vegetal with some chocolate and spice. Tastes of chocolate with some underlying spice, but it’s hard to get past the grassy quality this beer seems to possess.
3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20 Rynoplasty (700) - Louisville, Kentucky, USA - JAN 1, 2008
Pours near black with a little less than a finger of tan head. Aroma is of sweet chocolate and roasted malts. Taste is nice and smooth and the roasted and chocolate malts can definitely be tasted. This is a yummy reasonably priced porter.

Bottle@Home. Chocolate and coffee aroma. Very dark ruby, light brown head, very nice lace. Light sweet, pretty malty, chocolate, coffee, bitter. Very flavorful.
3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 bag (105) - Bethel Park, Pennsylvania, USA - DEC 1, 2007
From bottle. Dark brown and transparent. Small, tan head that did not last too long. Light, chocolate flavor but not very strong. Not bad, but I’d buy many others before buying this again.
3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 5000 (3998) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - NOV 9, 2007
Bottle: Nearly black, rather a deep brown with cola hues, moderate frothy light beige head, sparce lacing.   Soft roasted malt nose, a little coffee bean and chocolate, minor lactose.   Toasted malts on the tongue, not terribly roasty but still good.   A light Porter for sure.   Aside from the mainly toasted malts, slight lactose like sweetness.   Light example for the style, but clean and easy to drink.   Perhaps a great entry level Porter.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate.   Fairly decent for a light Porter.   Thanks Phil for the bottle!
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 CaptainCougar (6749) - Boz Scaggsville, Maryland, USA - OCT 20, 2007
Bottle: Transparent dark mahogany brown with a thin-lacing wispy light tan head. Aroma of sweet dark caramel and chocolate with a touch of smoke. Starts with a fairly-full dark caramely maltiness with some bittering hops and roasted presence. Finishes smooth and milk chocolatey. A pretty good porter.
