SB (287), Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA Oct 16, 2007 Bottle. Pours copperish, with a white fluffy head. Aroma of malts, and spices. Flavor has a nice blend of pumpkin and spices, not overpowering. Nice malt in the finish. Lingering spice (nutmeg) and sweet caramel in the end as well. All of the flavors are nice together. Medium bodied. Nice. Not over done.
Beerded_one (1551), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 9, 2008 Bottle. Pours amber/orange color with a small white head. Light spicy aroma with pumpkin, caramel malts, nutmeg, and a hint of cinnamon. Flavor is pumpkin, sweet malts, light caramel, cinnamon and nutmeg with a faint hop presence. decent pumpkin Perm (132), Tryon, North Carolina, USA Apr 28, 2008 One of the nice pumpkin ales I’ve had. I enjoy the style immensely, but find that I’m very picky with it. This one gets high marks for flavor and balance. jgb9348 (1793), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Feb 16, 2008 Deep amber coloured body with orange tints and copper highlights with a thin tan head that fades fast. Nice pungent aroma of fresh hops, strong pumpkin, spice and sweet fruits. Light to Medium-bodied; Strong pumpkin taste up front fading to a bit of a malty taste along with the spices of nutmeg and cinnamon that last quite a while. Aftertaste stays bitter because of the malt and spice, but it actually finishes quite nicely. Overall, this one is pretty good - the pumpkin is very noticeable and the rest is decent. Good to try, especially because it is a ’local’ seasonal! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Liquors in Washington, D.C. on 19-November-2005 on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. ScoWRee (210), Phila, Pennsylvania, USA Jan 5, 2008 Pours A golden orange color with a thin bubblie head that quickly disapates. Slight Pumpkin aroma. Taste is sweet, a little watery, a hint of pumpkin and spice. cheapdark (1529), Monacatootha, Pennsylvania, USA Nov 4, 2007 Slightly darker than the ubiquitous pale yellow american lager. Has a hint of pumpkin aroma in the smell along with pumpkin spices but the aroma is mostly just plain beer. Initial taste is somewhat like a dark lager or alt. but that immediately morphs into the taste of an amber ale or APA. There is some pumpkin spice in the flavors and some bitterness is in the forefront. However, it doesn’t start building until you are well into the session. Alt flavors also contihnue thru to the finish. Not bad except for the average bitter bite that is present. IMHO one of the better pumpkin beers. Better and more enjoyable than most. Finish is mild bitter lingering medicine.
