nearbeer (1833), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Aug 21, 2007 12 oz, 12007FX (Jan 07?). Clear, copper-dark brown with a medium and lasting creamy head. Aroma of spicy, peppery caramel and sweet dark fruit. Flavor is very interesting: at first like a toasty malty, British nut brown ale with some spices added. Finishes bitterish and dry pine-hoppy with a cocoa-molasses aftertaste. Palate is smooth, medium-bodied, and tingly on the end. Very nice. bombshelter (349), Washington, Washington DC, USA Aug 15, 2007 bottle. pours a cloudy darm amber, slight tan film on top. aroma is caramel and hints of herbal hops. full-bodied malts, taste of molasses, fruity malts, and a helping of noble hops make the finish not too sweet. not bad, especially for being a bit old (at least 10mo)
