Reminds me of the k-9 cruiser winter beer by flying dog. Has hints of hops, caramel, spices. The palate is full, and rich. The beer is well balanced, with some spiciness added into it. CaptainCougar (5379), Rockville, Maryland, USA Apr 23, 2007 Hand-bottle sampled on 2/13/07: Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, nicely-lacing white head. Aroma of sweet, toasty caramel malt with a fresh, piny grapefruity hoppy balance. Body starts fairly full and sweet with a nice bittering grapefruity hoppiness toward a smooth, balanced, bittersweet finish. Marsiblursi (1628), Göteborg, Sweden Mar 24, 2007 (Bottle) pours deep dark red. Light roasted aroma with some chocolate, earth, caramel and hints of stone. Some grassy hops with a subtle citric touch. Some dark fruits and dry raisins. Hints of yeast and vanilla. Roasted and light burned flavour with caramel, cocoa and a light subtle whiskey smokiness. Light sourish. Hints of earth and stone the finish is bitter and light sour. Some spiciness both in the aroma and flavour. Medium body. Holdwine (904), Beertimore, Maryland, USA Mar 23, 2007 Great all around ale. Nutty notes and maltiness on the nose. Nicely used malting leads to a crisp hop finish. As it warms the toasted malt arises giving a very pleasing mouthfeel.
