So we just released our first-ever seasonal, if you want to call it that. We made a special batch of Ode To Mercy aged on bourbon oak for these chilly winter days.

Taste clove, juniper and nutmeg, it's a dark almost pitch black. Has a good carbonation and head. It's a pleasure to drink with a nice bite. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours a clear brown on tap with bubbly white head. Aroma is faint, really light caramel and woodiness. Taste follows, kind of weak. Bubbly on the mouth, no real booziness, but also no real barrel. Meh.

This pours pours a solid brown color with an off white head that does not fade away. Smells of bourbon and a bit of malt/vanilla sweetness. The taste is a bit roasty followed by bourbon sweetness (vanilla) to some bitterness from the coffee, I really enjoy this beer sad it is only on tap

Draft at Trappeze Pub with Linh, Scarlett and Dad. Pours a light amber body with light off white lacing. Aroma is spice, malt, light raisin bread and grassy bitterness. Mouthfeel is medium to light with lots of spice, malt, light oak, and some vague fruits.

Pours a dark, barely transparent cinnamon brown. Aroma is malty, spicy, hint of caramel. Flavor has strong spicy and malt notes to it, hint of bourbon and oak. Firm texture has some decent fizz. This will keep you warm on a cold winter night.

Nice brown body. Reddish. Bourbon barrel comes through as a faint vanilla aroma, clearer in the finish but still faint. Bitterness gets a little metallic in the finish.

Growler from Taps. I am struggling to find the presence of the bourbon barrel but the beer is still pretty tasty. Full bodied and slightly sweet. Pours a ruby red almost brown. Aroma has some spice and yeast notes. Flavor comes in with a lot of red fruit and some nuttiness. Smooth and chewy malt flavors. Nice winter beer.

From phone notes. Draft at Suwanee Beer Fest . Pours a lighter brown with tan head. Aroma is big-time coffee, weaker bourbon, and some oak. The taste displayed more bourbon and oak notes with a big caramel malt presence. Wanted to buy a growler of this when it was last out during the winter, but kept missing it. Solid stuff here.

16oz growler, Winter 2012/13 batch. Served at around 50F.

Pours clear brown with red highlights, small beige head, recedes to a wispy cap, leaves just a few short-lived spots of lacing.

Aroma is nutty, caramel, light touch of bourbon, wood, bready, hint of coffee, dark fruit, brown sugar. Good to very good strength.

Flavor is nutty, caramel, brown sugar, light bourbon, wood, bit of coffee, bread, moderate sweetness, minimal bitterness, mild to moderate alcohol. Let is warm up to near room temp and it really turns the flavor up a notch.

Mouthfeel is medium bodied, moderate carbonation.

Pretty good...but I think I like the regular Ode to Mercy better...more coffee flavor in the original brew and not enough bourbon here to overcome that. Still, a very tasty Brown Ale.
