UPDATED: JAN 17, 2011 On tap at Trappeze pub in Athens, GA. Great beer from a unique upstart brewery. Complex malt profile. Coffee notes are present but not overpowering. Hops finish strong but are well balanced.

On tap at Jeffrey’s. Dark brown pour with red highlights. Aroma of alcohol esters, coffee, toffee, and dark fruits. Taste of burnt sugars, caramel, toffee, and roasted malts. Very sweet. Pretty smooth finish . Moni loves it!! It’s a winner

Poured from a bottle. Clear dark copper with a thick beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel/toffee, cold coffee and booze. More of the coffee flavor in the taste, also some bright hop notes. Body is smooth and creamy. Easy drinking for 8%. Nice job.

Not sure why anyone would rate this below my score, but this is hands down the best brown ale I’ve ever tasted. Has a strong coffee taste, with a slight bitterness and pours a solid head. Marlow’s in Dunwoody has this on tap right now 3/20/14. They actually do a great job on their draft beer selection.

Pours a clear brown from the bottle with bubbly tan head. Aroma is bready grain, caramel malt, and coffee. Taste is a little heavier on the coffee and bread than the nose. Not too bad, I’m looking forward to having more of their beer.

Poured from bottle to pint. Great nose on this one. Sweet vanilla, cream, chocolate and boozy caramel. Taste of malt, caramel and a dry hop finish. Decent beer

On tap at slice and pint Emory village. Kinda disappointed in the 8 oz pour but quickly getting past that. Wonderful sweet aroma of caramel. And YEM just came on the hifi so this beer is that much better. Back to the rating. Super complex. Notes of roasted barley and hints of oak with some really bright citrus hop poking through from time to time. Great beer from some local folks.
