COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Imperial Brown Ale
What could possibly be better than the combination of deep roasted malts, coffee, oak, and a smooth, creamy finish?

Ode To Mercy overflows with bold flavors woven into a very balanced and approachable beer that finishes with creamy lingering hints of oak, coffee (specially blended by Athens, GA’s 1000 Faces), and roasted goodness. Bright citrus hops peek through from time to time, adding additional layers of complexity.

Suggested food pairings: Barbecued chicken, Kielbasa, prime rib, cheesecake, English Cheddar Cheese, pate, and Munster cheese. 20SRM

Note: Formerly brewed at Thomas Creek.

I love the complexity that this brown ale has. I wish there were more imperial brown ales like this one.

Bottle while at Max Lager’s in Atlanta. Pours dark brown with a small off white head. Aroma of piney hops, roasty malts, some interesting spice notes. Flavor is rather in your face with big hop bitterness, lots of roast, and what tastes almost like chili spice. Very interesting and unique. Medium body, pretty easy drinking for nearly 9%. Overall a brew worth trying.

Dark brown, heavy aroma of coffee/chocolate, smooth hint of oak, no trace of alcohol, with a thick & silky mouthfeel from the lactose. My absolute favorite brown ale.

Bottle @ home, thanks to jcnielsen. Pours a deep reddish orange appearance with a light brown head. Toasted malt, biscuit, caramel, grass, and some herbal bitterness in the nose. Medium body. Some nutty flavors with caramel and bread. A little too bitter. Ehh.

bottle @ Habersham Beverage / Savannah GA --- Clear amber brown color, 1/2" ivory head, a few dots of lace. Taste is strong oakey caramel malt with carbonation and a bittered finish. Strong in a bitter-edgy way that doesn’t suit my palate very well. Okay, but not a lot of appeal.

Draft at Mellow Mushroom....pours a dark brown...smells fresh and clean...the taste is nutty, with a little lemon peel flavor, but refreshing

Intense coffee bean slight nutty aroma. Very smooth coffee flavor. Finishes quick and dry. Clean finishing. Very good coffee type porter. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

On tap at Jeffrey’s. Dark brown pour with red highlights. Aroma of alcohol esters, coffee, toffee, and dark fruits. Taste of burnt sugars, caramel, toffee, and roasted malts. Very sweet. Pretty smooth finish . Moni loves it!! It’s a winner

Poured from a bottle. Clear dark copper with a thick beige head. Aroma is roasted malts, caramel/toffee, cold coffee and booze. More of the coffee flavor in the taste, also some bright hop notes. Body is smooth and creamy. Easy drinking for 8%. Nice job.

Not sure why anyone would rate this below my score, but this is hands down the best brown ale I’ve ever tasted. Has a strong coffee taste, with a slight bitterness and pours a solid head. Marlow’s in Dunwoody has this on tap right now 3/20/14. They actually do a great job on their draft beer selection.

Pours a clear brown from the bottle with bubbly tan head. Aroma is bready grain, caramel malt, and coffee. Taste is a little heavier on the coffee and bread than the nose. Not too bad, I’m looking forward to having more of their beer.
