Decent example...on the sweet side and not all that exciting, but my pick of the three I tried. ratman197 (2174), Arvada, Colorado, USA May 27, 2007 On tap @ Wild Mountain poured a clear reddish amber with a small lingering off white head. Aromas of carmel, light earthiness and hints of toffee and diacytal. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of carmel, earthiness and light butterscotch with a dry lingering moderatly bitter finish. Aubrey (2554), Denver, Colorado, USA May 15, 2007 Deep, dark amber hue. Rather lively carbonation. Very roast and toasty, with only a mildly sweet base to boot. Kind of chewy and dark natured. Had a curious, black ale or schwarzbier quality, with hints of tar, dark toast and anise. A little sticky at times. "Amber" is an ambiguous style, as many know, but this beer definitely leans toward the "brown ale" or "black ale" categories among the "amber ale" spectrum.
