luckygirl (1212), Longmont, Colorado, USA Mar 9, 2008 Draught at the brewery. FDGD 08. Beer is cloudy, medium amber-brown. Head is moderate, off-white, foamy/creamy. Diminishes mostly, ultimately lasts, leaves a clingy crust of racing.
The aroma is malty with moderate malt notes of caramel, toasted grain and cookie; Hoppy with a light note of dried apricot, moderate notes of resin/pine lighter notes of herb and cedar; Yeasty with a trace of sweaty basement.
The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately-to-heavily bitter, lightly-to-moderately acidic with a long, moderately-to-heavily bitter, lightly sweet, lightly acidic (dry) finish. Dull, dirty-penny-like bitterness in the aftertaste.
The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average.
Server called this an Imperial Red, but it seemed very hoppy for that.

Nice mouthfeel. Kevin (1765), Colorado, USA May 14, 2008 red brown with a lacing sticky head. sweet honeyed nose. copper is a fitting description for the color. flavor-straightforward sweet malt. a very sweet beer that is far from complex. a bit tannic in the finish some vanilla notes and a vegetable hop taste that balances while not complimenting the sugar. i guessed 6.3 for the abv, very doughy
