UPDATED: MAY 27, 2013 Mountain Mama Cherry Wheat Served in a sampler glass. Clear copper pour with one finger of white head and moderate lacing. Fruity, mildy grainy aroma. Flavor is mild up front with wheat tones, then sweet cherry. The cherry is not overpowering or artificial, very nice. Light carbonation and body. Very drinkable. Overall, could use some stronger wheat character and more body but an enjoyable fruit beer.

Mountain Mamaís at brewpub. Color was clear reddish-gold with a small head that didnít last. Aroma of cherries, lemon, and wheat. The flavor is fruity and sweet with a very mild wheat/yeastiness. Light bodied, but not watery tasting. Pretty good for the style.

Tap @ brewpub, named Mt mama’s. Hazy golden glowy color, short head. Sweet aroma of fruit, ginger. Ginger in taste as well, wheat, lemon grass. I dont like it.

Draught. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is light pink. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), lightly hoppy (flowers), with light notes of berries, metal, and wood. Flavor is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, ilghtly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not much to recommend. Quite pale and not much cherry or beery aroma. This is what they serve the beer-ignorant who ask "whatís the lightest thing you have?" Hey, at least they havenít caved in and added a Coors Light tap yet.

On tap @ Wild Mountain poured a clear pinkish gold with a small lingering off white head. Aromas of bread, light wheat and a hint of cherry. Palate was light bodied crisp and dry. Flavors of wheat, bread and a faint hint of cherry with a crisp dry finish.

Light color, body, yada yada. Malts were wheaty and wet-grainy. Bit of sour-tart thing going on, which was kind of nice. Hints of cherries and lemon. Only a light bitterness. Some odd flavors and aromas danced on my tongue. Not sure if I liked them or not. Decent musicians, they just werenít playing well together.
