Commercial Description:
The ode to Otis. An American style pale ale with a vonderful balance of malt and hops. A strong hop nose that will leave you surprised by the balance of the hops and malt you find on your pallet. Ending with a smooth clean finish leaving you eager for your next sip!!!

Draught at the brewery. FDGD 08. Beer is clear, medium oxidized amber. Head is small, frothy/creamy. Diminishes but mostly lasts. Clingy specks of lacing.

The aroma is malty with a light note of toasted grain, Hoppy with a savory herbal trace, light-to-moderate dried apricot, resin/pine, grapefruit; Yeasty with a trace note of dough.

The flavor is moderately sweet, moderately-to-heavily bitter, light-to-moderately acidic with a long, lightly-to-moderately bitter finish. Bitterness in aftertaste is blunt, perhaps metallic.

The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is average.

Draft at the brewery. Unfiltered cloudy dark copper colored body with a white head and medium-to-thick lacing. Dry-hopping very evident, catty, resinous hops, actually resembles American ESB, musty pine and orange hops in the nose and tasted throughout as well. A malty nose of bread crust/toast stands up solidly on the palate, medium to full body, with some weird filmy carbonation issues noticed, but nothing too distracting or annoying. Fresh, delicious, well integrated toast/bran/bread crust with the mildly dry/catty orange flavored hops, with IPA/ESB-level bitterness. Quite good.

Draught. Head is fully lasting. Body is hazy medium amber. Aroma is lightly malty (toasted grain), moderately hoppy (grapefruit, resin), with a note of soap. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly to moderately acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. Not very adventurous, but not bad.

On tap @ Wild Mountain poured a clear amber with a small lasting white head. Aromas of carmel and light fruittiness. Palate was light bodied and crisp. Flavors of bread and light carmel with a crisp dry lightly bitter finish.
