Pours a deep almost black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malt, toffee, caramel, vanilla and nuts. Flavor of roasted malt, milk chocolate and coffee.

Draft pour on tap at Stout Fest 2013 (Chicago, IL). Pours a big thicker black pour, some deep hues. Aromas are cocoa and roast, some oak, tannic, vanilla and wood. Firm frothy head dies to a good frothy layer, laces ok. Initial is fuller bodied, cocoa and toffee, some black roast, gentle toastiness and roast. Mellow coffee. French oak, distinct tannic elements, wet wood, splinters shows. Some cocoa, creaminess in the body as we move into the middle. A bit of cocoa, roast, tannic french oak, woody. A bit mellow, cocoa and dryness. Some roastiness lingers, thins out a bit more. Tasty. A touch thin but pretty nice beer.

Draft at Onion Brewpub in Tulip. Pours dark syrup with one inch brown head. Malty, chocolate, light bitterness. Alcohol present but not strong. Solid RIS.

From the tap poured a dark brown color with a good amount of head. Sweet malty flavor with a quick toasted finish.
