12 oz bottle. Chocolate, fudge, light barrel. Full silky body. For a sub 10% ba imperial this packs a lot of flavor and body.

12 ounce bottle. Pours a dense opaque black color with a smal creamy tan head. Rich roasted malt nose. Notes of prunes and black coffee. Sweet roasted malt flavor has big coffee and dark dried fruit notes. A bit of treacle and black licorice comes through here. Chewy and sticky with earthy coffee notes. A real sipper is this one. Sweet and sticky from first sip to last swallow. She’s so heavy...heavy...heavy.......

Smells of booze, oak, vanilla and plum. Aroma is sharp at first and ends up sweet. Shiny black with a cap of light brown foam. Flavor is strong bourbon barrel, with accents of vanilla and high end coffee with cream. Very slight booze burn at the end, surprisingly short lived aftertaste. Average palate, I would have liked a little thicker. Overall this was a surprisingly good offering from Wild Onion. This was expensive ($16 for a 4 pk.) but I’m glad I ponied up. I highly recommend this.

2015 version, pours almost black with a quickly receding dark brown head. Aroma of cocoa, roasted malt, dark fruit, ash and vanilla. Bourbon is not as noticeable as 2014 version. ( Had one last nite.) Flavor is pretty much as expected. This was big, thick and chewy, with a nice warm finish from the bourbon barrel aging. Very nice beer!

Jet black pour with no head. Aroma of oak and vanilla. Full bodied. Taste has a little coffee to it, as well as oak and vanilla. Not overly flavorful for the style. Lots of oak and bourbon, but not much else.

Strong notes of roasted malts with some chocolate and finishes slightly sour. This brewery is awful, but this is one of their better beers. Slightly boozy. Pours black with a tan head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with absolutely no head. Aromas of woody, smoke, coffee, vanilla, spice, slight sour tone, faint alcohol and roasted barley. Flavors of smoke, woody, vanilla, sour tone, coffee, alcohol, spice, slight hop bitterness, caramel and chocolate with a slight oily feel in the mouth. Not the best BBARIS but it’s definitely an enjoyable.

My bottle 9.5%. Nose strong chocolate and sweet dark malt, light vanilla and barrel, medium roast and strong coffee flavor; also favoring nice plummy character and light yeast autolysis. Pours inky dark brown-black but not motor oil; doesn’t manage to ever form a heard but does manage a slight 1/16th" ring of light brown . Almost perfectly still/flat but heavily malty body, warming with very sweet grape and plum, alcohol, oak, vanilla, heavy port wine character with lighter caramel and yeast. Coffee and chocolate are quite subdued but the sugary malt is enough to make up for them. Smooth despite the booze and overall a winning flavor despite the significant flaws; it’s quite bold and surprisingly clean.
