COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An insanely full-bodied Russian Imperial Stout named after Rocky’s ultimate foe. Brewed with boatloads of roasted malt and Sumatra coffee beans. This big ale will warm the coldest of souls.

Bottle poured into a brandy snifter. Very dark (duh!), with a barely visible head that disipated immediately. Boozy bourbon on the nose with a bittersweet coffee/wood tone and sugary likeness. Taste is complex: malt, bourbon, charred wood, roasted coffee, toasted marshmallow. Relatively lighter body for the style, goes down more easily like a cup of coffee than a super big stout. Very good though, plan on putting a couple away for a while. Give it a try!

Draft pour on tap at Stout Fest 2013 (Chicago, IL). Pours a big thicker black pour, some deep hues. Aromas are cocoa and roast, some oak, tannic, vanilla and wood. Firm frothy head dies to a good frothy layer, laces ok. Initial is fuller bodied, cocoa and toffee, some black roast, gentle toastiness and roast. Mellow coffee. French oak, distinct tannic elements, wet wood, splinters shows. Some cocoa, creaminess in the body as we move into the middle. A bit of cocoa, roast, tannic french oak, woody. A bit mellow, cocoa and dryness. Some roastiness lingers, thins out a bit more. Tasty. A touch thin but pretty nice beer.

From the tap poured a dark brown color with a good amount of head. Sweet malty flavor with a quick toasted finish.
