An insanely full-bodied Russian Imperial Stout named after Rockyís ultimate foe. Brewed with boatloads of roasted malt and Sumatra coffee beans. This big ale will warm the coldest of souls.

Strong notes of roasted malts with some chocolate and finishes slightly sour. This brewery is awful, but this is one of their better beers. Slightly boozy. Pours black with a tan head. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Pours black with absolutely no head. Aromas of woody, smoke, coffee, vanilla, spice, slight sour tone, faint alcohol and roasted barley. Flavors of smoke, woody, vanilla, sour tone, coffee, alcohol, spice, slight hop bitterness, caramel and chocolate with a slight oily feel in the mouth. Not the best BBARIS but itís definitely an enjoyable.

My bottle 9.5%. Nose strong chocolate and sweet dark malt, light vanilla and barrel, medium roast and strong coffee flavor; also favoring nice plummy character and light yeast autolysis. Pours inky dark brown-black but not motor oil; doesnít manage to ever form a heard but does manage a slight 1/16th" ring of light brown . Almost perfectly still/flat but heavily malty body, warming with very sweet grape and plum, alcohol, oak, vanilla, heavy port wine character with lighter caramel and yeast. Coffee and chocolate are quite subdued but the sugary malt is enough to make up for them. Smooth despite the booze and overall a winning flavor despite the significant flaws; itís quite bold and surprisingly clean.

12oz bottle from ck1, thanks bro! Pours black with a brown head. Aroma has bourbon, molasses, berries, vanilla, caramel and some roast. Nice nose. Not sure this is not the "Barrel Aged Drago", but the picture of this is the same as my bottle. Taste is of sweet vanilla, caramel, some marshmallow, bourbon and some vegetalness. Medium bodied, and actually not too thick at all ("imperial" due to the abv?), with alcohol. Finishes sweetly caramel bourbony with a bit of length. Solid bourbony offering with some additional good points. The vegetalness, a touch off, plus perhaps thin. 14.3

2014 bottle. Jet black with just a film of a head. Had a deep barley smell with bittersweet dark chocolate and prunes. Taste is the same with pasted malt. Slick, oily mouthfeel. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

12oz bottle of yet another brewery I didnít even know came to NJ from Spirits Xroads. Pours a so-so looking thicker deep dark black silky body with a super small large brown bubble head. Aroma is nice, dark fruits (figs, dates, raisins), burnt molasses, dark sugar, cola, burnt toast, light bourbon and vanilla extract. Big full body, thick...almost to thick mouthfeel, soft to barely there carbonation, slight heat on the end. Flavor is much like the aroma, dark and syrupy with a touch alcohol. Notes of prunes, plums, dates, wet burnt toast, light bourbon, vanilla extract, burnt marshmallows. This really seems barrel aged even though itís just the high ABV transferring some alcohol flavor notes into the beer.

Poured from a 12oz bottle into a snifter glass. Pours an opaque ultra dark brown--essentially black--with absolutely no head. I even tried swirling the bottle while pouring to get it to kick up a little foam, and nothing. As the beer settled in the glass I could see some bubbles rise along the glass wall. Aroma is strong of bourbon with some malt roastiness. Taste is bourbon at the front, a slightly sour coffee and chocolate in the middle, and a little bitter bite at the finish. Brew is smooth on the tongue, but just too under-carbonated for my preference. Overall, I felt this was a good, although not very impressive bourbon-aged imperial stout. "Never turn your back on your beer."

Bottle, courtesy of a kind soul... shared in a location remote of my dining room.
Pours black with a very small head.

The aroma has a nice vanilla and molasses sweet thing going on. Itís nicely roasty with some good toasted marshmallow notes.

The flavor is sweet & lightly bitter, itís got some espresso, some ashiness... a little bit of vanilla and oak. Itís pretty decently balanced for sure.

Aroma is dark malts, fruit and paper/wood/cardboard. The flavor is dark malts, chocolate, paper/wood, mild coffee, dark fruit and an acidic/warming finish.
